At 11:00 a.m. on November 17, Mr. Nguyen The Hai - Head of Khanh Son Bridge and Road Management Department said: Heavy rain from the night of November 16 until the morning of November 17 caused serious landslides on Khanh Son Pass (Provincial Road 9), deep flooding in many locations, completely cutting off the road and making it impossible to travel.

Through preliminary inspection, there were 4 major landslides, a huge amount of rock and soil spilled over the entire surface of Provincial Road 9, including: Spillway area Km18+200, Km 21+900, Km25+100 and Km27+100. In addition, on this mountain pass, there were many deep flooded spots, mud, rocks, and large trees blocking the road.

Currently, the Department of Construction's staff has been present at the scene to work with Khanh Son Bridge and Road Management Department to mobilize forces, vehicles, and equipment to overcome the landslide from Cam An commune up and Dong Khanh Son commune down to soon open the Khanh Son pass road at least 1 lane to serve the rescue work, search for the remaining buried people in the landslide area that occurred at 6:00 p.m. on November 16, at Tuong Vy stream, on Khanh Son pass road.
