New railway station construction site in Da Nang

Da Nang Station is located on Hai Phong Street, Thanh Khe District. This is the main and important train station on the North-South railway line. The station currently has three functional areas including a freight station, a passenger station and a technical operations station.

Relocating Da Nang station out of the inner city helps reduce traffic congestion, while creating land for urban reconstruction, connecting important routes for socio -economic development.

Da Nang City area plans to build a new railway station near Trung Nghia Lake, Hoa Minh Ward. Located at the intersection of 3 routes Hoang Thi Loan - Nam Tran - Nguyen Tuong Pho (Lien Chieu District).

The current railway route in Da Nang city will be kept the same.

The dead-end railway branch from Thanh Khe roundabout through Thanh Khe station to Da Nang station will be converted into an urban railway.

The Kim Lien station area located on Nguyen Van Cu street (Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Lien Chieu district) is a cargo station, auxiliary works and railway agencies. This place will become a cargo station with a loading and unloading capacity of about 500,000 tons per year.

According to the pre-feasibility study report, the project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 will build a new station with an area of about 3,000 m2 and 10 floors to serve train passengers.

The total investment for the project to relocate Da Nang station phase 1 is estimated at VND2,290 billion, of which the cost of site clearance is VND780 billion, the cost of construction and equipment is about VND1,190 billion, implemented from 2024 to 2030.

In phase 2, the city will relocate the station and railway lines in Da Nang City according to the plan and build a new passenger station in Hoa Son commune, Hoa Vang district. The station will serve the national railway and the high-speed railway on the North-South axis. Phase 2 project is expected to cost more than VND3,810 billion, with capital from the state budget.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City proposed to implement the project of relocating Da Nang station phase 1 from 2024 to 2030, in which the construction phase is from the third quarter of 2026 to 2030. The new passenger railway station will operate until 2050.
