The Royal Bridge connecting the center of Hai Phong City to Royal Island (Vu Yen Island, Thuy Nguyen City) was completed last April.

In 2024, the GRDP scale of Hai Phong city will be in the top 5 localities with the largest GRDP scale in the country, along with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Binh Duong and Dong Nai - affirming the city's role as an economic locomotive for the economic development of the whole country.

For 3 consecutive years (2022 - 2024), the city's state budget revenue exceeded 100,000 billion VND, an important resource for the city's socio-economic development.

For 4 consecutive years (2021 - 2024), Hai Phong has always been in the top 5 cities attracting foreign investment capital, in which in 2021 it led the country with foreign investment capital attracting over 5 billion USD.

After 16 years of being approved by the Prime Minister to establish Hai Phong's first economic zone (Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone), at the end of 2024, the city was approved to establish the second economic zone - the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone with a scale of 20,000 hectares. The project is expected to be a new growth driver, developing according to the green - smart - comprehensive model, elevating Hai Phong to become the country's leading marine economic center.
