On July 22, the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi announced the admission score for full-time undergraduate training programs in 2025 from 15 to 19 points.
Of which, 14/15 majors have the same floor score of 19, a decrease of 2 points compared to last year (only Russian and Arabic majors have a decrease of 1 point).
The economics and finance sector has a floor score of 15 points, a decrease of 5 points compared to last year.
The above floor score does not include the foreign language coefficient, does not include bonus points, and includes regional and subject priority points (if any) for all admission combinations of three subjects/exams.

This year’s high school graduation exam has English as an optional subject. According to statistics, although the number of candidates has decreased, only about 1/3 compared to last year, the average score is 5.38, down 0.13 points from last year. More than 134,000/351,848 candidates scored below 5.
Notably, the number of candidates achieving 7 points or higher in English is just over 15%, down more than 10% compared to 2024.
Previously, in the online admission consultation session, the University of Foreign Languages also predicted that the admission scores for majors in 2025 would fluctuate between 19 and 25 points based on high school graduation exam scores, down 1.5 to 3 points depending on the major.
The benchmark scores for English and Chinese pedagogy are expected to range from 23 to 25 points, while last year the benchmark scores for these two majors were 38.45 and 37.85 (foreign language coefficient 2), equivalent to about 9.7 points/subject.
Last year, the Korean language teaching major got 37.31 points, Japanese language teaching 37.21 points (about 9.3 points/subject), but the predicted benchmark score this year is only 22 - 23.5 points.
After the high school graduation exam scores were released, many education experts also predicted that the admission combinations with math and English this year would decrease by 2-3 points compared to last year.

In 2025, the University of Foreign Languages will enroll 2,400 students for 14 training majors, an increase of about 400 targets compared to last year.
The school uses 5 admission methods, including direct admission; considering high school graduation exam scores; considering a combination of foreign language certificates with high school graduation exam scores; considering HSA competency assessment test scores; considering certificates combined with academic records.
