U22 Vietnam met professional requirements despite losing to Uzbekistan. |
"U22 Vietnam played with determination and discipline and did not get carried away by the opponent despite facing disadvantages early on. The whole team remained calm, made reasonable adjustments and gradually regained the rhythm of the match," said coach Dinh Hong Vinh after the match.
In this match, U22 Vietnam created some clear chances in the second half but lacked precision in the final handling. The ability to maintain the pressing rhythm and transition was not up to the mark when facing a team with superior strength and speed like Uzbekistan.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh shared: "This result is regrettable. But this is an international friendly tournament, the most important goal is still to build the squad, test the personnel and accumulate experience."
Besides the technical skills, the acting coach of U22 Vietnam highly appreciated the fighting spirit of the players. According to him, the early loss could have easily broken the team, but U22 Vietnam did not panic. "The players kept their distance, did not give up and continued to look for opportunities to equalize. That shows that their character is gradually being formed," he said.
In the final match, U22 Vietnam will face U22 Korea. The young Korean team is always famous for its strong physical foundation, high speed and modern tactical system. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that the coaching staff will carefully analyze the last match to adjust personnel, while prioritizing improving final handling ability.
The match with U22 Korea will take place at 2:30 p.m. on November 18. This is considered an important rehearsal before the team enters the sprint phase towards the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
