Dong Hung Electricity: Ensuring safe and stable power supply

Dong Hung Electricity is upgrading a number of power lines.

Dong Hung Power Company currently manages 570 stations with 600 transformers, total capacity of 196,575kVA; 13 medium voltage lines, including 4 35kV lines, 7 22kV lines and 2 10kV lines with a total line length of 377.51km. In recent times, Dong Hung Power Company has focused on implementing many solutions to invest, renovate and upgrade the power grid system; directed departments to analyze and evaluate data and load characteristics in each area, on that basis, forecast the load and develop appropriate power supply scenarios during the hot season. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chung, Director of Dong Hung Power Company, said: The unit has been focusing on implementing key groups of solutions related to technical management - operation, investment in construction and customer service business; Speed up the maintenance of power lines and special contact points for important power supply lines; replace medium and low voltage lines; periodically maintain equipment, and share the load of many transformer stations at risk of overload. At the same time, actively implement digital transformation, integrate technology and digital into the electricity business process with the goal of increasing operational efficiency, aiming for the best service quality for customers.

To ensure stable power supply during the hot season, since the beginning of the year, Dong Hung Power Company has replaced and added 33,193m of twisted cables of all kinds; increased capacity and rotated 97 transformers to prevent overload. Conducted periodic testing of transformers and grounding of transformer stations and power lines. Balanced phase contact, checked low-voltage capacitors, and handled existing problems on low-voltage lines of 116 transformer stations. Checked contact of transformer terminals and circuit breakers at all transformer stations during the hot season, organized current measurement and balanced phase of 400V lines of 69 transformer stations with sudden load changes during the hot season. Completed 2 power line projects with a length of 4.7km and installed 14 transformer stations to prevent grid overload in some communes in the district. Replace and add 19,200m of twisted cables of various types to the low voltage line in Dong Tan commune, Dong Kinh. Repair medium voltage lines 471E3.3 and 476E3.3, line 373E3.3 and line 473E3.3.

Along with that, Dong Hung Electricity also assigned local staff to inspect and organize the clearing of the power grid corridor; rotate transformers in accordance with the load; check the contact points of the transformer, the contact points of the main and branch circuit breakers. The unit also measured the current during peak and off-peak hours to calculate the phase balance. At the same time, fully prepare spare materials and organize the construction of a standby force when an incident occurs; propagate customers to join hands in practicing electricity saving such as: turning off electrical equipment when not in use, limiting electricity use during peak hours of the day; encourage customers to buy energy-labeled equipment when they need to change old equipment in the family; use high-efficiency electric motors, arrange production reasonably... to save production costs, contribute to environmental protection, and respond to climate change.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huan, a worker of Operation Management Team No. 2, Dong Hung Power Company, said: In recent months, the Team has increased inspection and handling of defects at key locations, especially porcelain chain accessories; at the same time, repairing, maintaining, replacing old electrical equipment, upgrading transformer stations and power lines to ensure stable grid operation, minimizing incidents, meeting the increasing electricity demand of people in the hot season of 2025. Mr. Vu Van Thi, Tho Nam village, Minh Phu commune, shared: The demand for electrical equipment of people in the hot season has increased, so recently in the village during peak hours, there has been a situation of weak electricity. However, recently, Dong Hung Power Company has replaced transformers and upgraded power lines, thanks to which the electricity quality is stable, people can rest assured in production and daily life.
