Always want to go back to Vietnam
Latifah Al-Hazza currently lives and works in Los Angeles (USA). As a travel business owner, she has had the opportunity to visit more than 80 countries and territories with many memorable memories. “My first trip abroad took place when I was only 3 months old. It was a trip with my parents. Since then, my passion for discovery has never stopped. “To date, I have lived in 4 countries and visited 5 continents. For me, traveling is a passion,” the American girl confided.
Having visited many places, Latifah believes that there are 5 countries that left the most impression on her, which are Spain, Cyprus, Italy, Greece and Vietnam. These are the places she will definitely return to explore again.
Regarding Vietnam, the American female tourist admitted that she loves the S-shaped land because of its diverse landscape, delicious food and friendly, hospitable locals. “My favorite place in Vietnam is Hoi An ancient town. This place used to be a trading port, but now it has been transformed into a tourist destination with a winding river surrounding it. When coming to Hoi An, don't forget to experience sitting on a basket boat and weaving through the Bay Mau coconut forest,” Latifah shared her experience.
Besides Hoi An, the American girl also loves the feeling of sleeping peacefully on a cruise in Ha Long, watching the sunrise and sunset on the bay. In addition, visitors can kayak, hike, climb mountains or learn to cook.
To learn about history and traditional culture, Latifah believes that tourists should go to two bustling cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Go up to the northern mountainous region to Sa Pa, where the breathtaking scenery of the mountainous region with beautiful terraced fields is breathtaking. “I want to come back to Vietnam many more times because I love seeing the terraced fields. It is a very different feeling,” the visitor described.

Coming from Lithuania, Rita Rasimaite said that sometimes she feels like she is the “tourism ambassador” of Vietnam because whenever she is “unintentional”, her friends hear her talking about Vietnam. “It has been more than 5 years since I have been back to Vietnam because I am busy studying and working. I always want to come back to Vietnam,” Rita expressed her nostalgia.
In 2017, Rita Rasimaite first came to Vietnam, cycling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. A year later, the female tourist returned again. Rita’s trips to Vietnam even inspired a friend of hers to come to Vietnam and take 2 trips by bicycle like her, Rita “bragged”.
“Perhaps what I love most about Vietnam is the honest and friendly people, the delicious food, the beautiful nature, the culture, and the weather. I feel that Vietnam is still very ‘authentic’ and that is what I like most,” Rita said.
She said that she herself could not choose just one place she liked best in Vietnam. “I love Ho Chi Minh City for its hustle and bustle, the North for its diversity and history, Phu Quoc for its beaches and sunsets, Hoi An for its magical light, and Da Lat for its greenery and fresh air,” Rita excitedly shared.
How long is enough to explore Vietnam?
Jeanine Romo, a travel blogger who has traveled to 44 countries, believes that tourists should spend at least 2 weeks exploring Vietnam. According to her, 2 weeks is enough time to visit 3-4 cities in Vietnam.

Jeanine first visited Vietnam in 2019. The American blogger gifted herself a three-week trip to Vietnam to celebrate her birthday. She went to Hanoi, then visited Ha Long Bay, Tam Coc, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City. At the end of 2023, she will return to visit Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An and Da Nang.
“I want to come to Vietnam because it is a beautiful country with many wonderful natural wonders, rich culture and delicious food. I am constantly impressed by the natural beauty of this country, from the coastal scenery to the mountains and rivers, Vietnam is truly breathtakingly beautiful. I am also impressed by the cities, loving everything from the peaceful streets and alleys in Hoi An, to the bustling urban areas like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,” Jeanine shared with Tuoi Tre Online. Jeanine affirmed that she could come to Vietnam forever.

Meanwhile, Mr. Joss Huot, a French Canadian, said that although he has been in Vietnam for the past 5 years and had previously visited Vietnam 9 times in 13 years, he still feels that he does not know everything about this country. The 61-year-old man from Quebec City first came to Vietnam in 2006, staying in Hanoi, then traveling south, and 16 days later, he stayed in Ho Chi Minh City for another 5 days. A year later, he returned, staying for 3 weeks, traveling from south to north. During those two trips, he also visited Sa Pa, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Mui Ne, Ben Tre and Can Tho. Joss confided that the main motivation for him to want to come to Vietnam in 2006 was to learn about the Vietnamese people, after reading a lot about the war in this country. Later, when people asked him what he liked most about Vietnam, he always answered "the people".
In 2014, through friends, he met the love of his life and later married her and both lived in Tan Binh district. Officially living in Vietnam since 2019, having previously visited Vietnam 9 times since 2006, Joss still affirms that Vietnam always has new things to discover.
For him, the biggest difference between living in Vietnam and traveling in Vietnam is that he has more time to explore. “I don’t have to rush to visit this place or that place before leaving. I can simply enjoy a day, drinking coffee and tea with the locals. I walk a lot, go through many alleys in the districts, connect with people, make friends and learn more about the local culture every day,” Joss confided.
In March, Australian teacher Liz McGrath and her family visited Vietnam three times. “I love visiting Vietnam. If I come back for a fourth time, I want to spend at least two weeks there,” Liz said.
With her many experiences in Vietnam, she said she should only focus on exploring 2-3 places, because the distance between places is quite far. “I would be very happy if I could fly to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, because I love the energy of both cities. If I travel to the North, I will stay in Hanoi for 4-5 days, enjoy the atmosphere around Hoan Kiem Lake, eat in the Old Quarter and explore the museums. I will also go to Hue and Hoi An to immerse myself in the culture and history there. And if my trip focuses on the South, I will spend 4-5 days revisiting the markets and enjoying the food in Ho Chi Minh City, then return to the Mekong Delta to explore that rich area. Friendly people, delicious food and beautiful scenery are what make me come back to Vietnam again and again,” Liz shared.
It is known that Liz first came to Vietnam in 1996 when she was young, when she "traveled" with a friend from the South to the North. After that, she brought her family of 6 people back to Vietnam twice in 2020 and 2023, going to many places such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hoi An, Hanoi, Lan Ha Bay...
