The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has just decided to conduct the largest-ever survey on labor and salary situation in enterprises in 2024, as a basis for considering increasing the regional minimum wage in 2025. The survey will be conducted at 3,400 enterprises in 18 provinces and cities, representing 8 economic regions of the country, with a large number of enterprises and a developed labor market.
The survey areas are as follows: Red River Delta: Hanoi , Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc; Northeast: Quang Ninh; Northwest: Hoa Binh; North Central: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An; South Central Coast: Da Nang, Khanh Hoa; Central Highlands: Dak Lak; Southeast: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau; Mekong Delta: Long An, Can Tho.
According to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the localities with the largest number of surveyed enterprises are Hanoi with 700 enterprises and 1,400 workers; Ho Chi Minh City with 800 enterprises and 1,600 workers; Dong Nai province with 200 enterprises and 400 workers; provinces and cities: Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Binh Duong, each locality has 150 enterprises and 300 workers...

Along with that, the surveyed enterprises need to have representatives in 3 groups of labor size, including: From 10 to less than 100 employees; from 100 to less than 300 employees and from 300 employees or more; in terms of type, enterprises can belong to the group of State-owned enterprises, non-State enterprises or enterprises with foreign investment capital.
Besides, Enterprises operate in 3 groups of production and business sectors such as: Agriculture - forestry - fishery; industry - construction and trade - services. For employees, it is necessary to ensure the requirement of having worked for 1 year or more.
This investigation aims to collect information on production, business, labor, wages in enterprises. From there, provide a basis for adjusting the minimum wage in 2025 according to the activities of the National Wage Council; at the same time, serve the management work, periodically announce the average wage level in the labor market, for enterprises and employees to refer to, as a basis for salary negotiation.
The Government has issued Decree No. 74/2024/ND-CP stipulating the minimum wage for employees working under labor contracts, increasing wages by 6% from July 1, 2024, equivalent to an increase of VND 200,000 to VND 280,000 depending on the wage region. Accordingly, the minimum wage in region 1 increased to 4.96 million VND/month, region 2 to 4.41 million VND/month, region 3 to 3.86 million VND/month, and region 4 to 3.45 million VND/month. The hourly minimum wage also increased by 6%, region 1 increased to 23,800 VND; region 2 increased to 21,200 VND; region 3 increased to 18,600 VND; region 4 increased to 16,600 VND. |
