National Assembly delegation of Soc Trang province works with leaders of Soc Trang Electricity Company

According to the representative of Soc Trang Electricity Company, in the first months of 2025, the electricity supply situation in Soc Trang province was stable, ensuring electricity supply for local socio -economic development and important events of the province. Commercial electricity has reached 30.14%; the implementation of non-cash electricity payment has been making positive progress; the installation of remote metering has accounted for 99.61% and it is expected that in the second quarter of 2025, 100% of remote metering in the province will be completed. In 2024 and 2025, Soc Trang Electricity Company will implement the investment plan to build and develop the 22kV grid and 110kV grid projects according to the assigned plan. In addition, Southern Power Corporation is continuing to implement the construction and installation of transmission lines and distribution transformer stations in Soc Trang province under the effective power grid project in small and medium-sized cities - using ODA loans from the German Government (component project 3, phase 2) with a total investment of 147.76 billion VND; the volume of implementation is 113.25km of medium-voltage lines, 13.58km of low-voltage lines, 19 transformer stations with a total capacity of 3,315 kVA. Regarding the report on the implementation of voters' recommendations, up to now, Soc Trang Power Company has reviewed and included additional investment in construction in 2025 and 2026, expected to be implemented in late 2025 and early 2026. Since the investment capital for construction in 2025 has been allocated and is being implemented, Soc Trang Power Company will arrange in order of priority to include in the investment capital for construction in 2026 to implement investment in power supply in areas that voters have recommended.

According to the representative of Soc Trang Electricity Company, in the meeting on August 5, 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed departments, branches, localities, and project investors when proposing to approve investment policies for transport projects to include the cost of infrastructure relocation (electricity, water, telecommunications, etc.) into the project cost for consistency. Therefore, the company proposed to the Provincial National Assembly Delegation to propose to the investor to pay the relocation cost for the remaining projects similar to the project of relocating 110kV grid infrastructure to serve the construction of the expressway project.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Lam Van Man acknowledged the efforts and development of Soc Trang Electricity Company in recent times, which has contributed greatly to the socio-economic development tasks of the province and promptly resolved the opinions and recommendations of voters in the province, especially in investing in developing the power grid. The company has been very determined in implementing digital transformation in the electricity sector according to the set plan; the company has done a good job in social security work...

According to the report of Soc Trang Electricity Company, in 2024, there were 9 electrical accidents among the people, killing 9 people and injuring 3 people (mainly due to some households using electricity unsafely, such as: repairing electrical equipment but not cutting off the power; not promptly repairing power lines, damaged electrical equipment and peeling insulation...). Therefore, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man requested Soc Trang Electricity Company to strengthen coordination with the media to promote propaganda and guide people to use electricity safely; at the same time, strengthen inspection work to ensure safety in the use of electricity, thereby raising awareness in the use of electricity, contributing to minimizing electrical accidents in production and daily life of the people.
