Delegation of Dien Bien province visited and worked in the Russian Federation

At the invitation of the Saint Petersburg Tourism Development Committee (Russian Federation), from April 15 to 20, a delegation of Dien Bien province led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do visited and worked in Saint Petersburg city and attended the 12th International Scientific Congress with the theme "Sports, People and Health", on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the founding of Saint Petersburg University.

This is an important activity to concretize the Cooperation Agreement between the Dien Bien provincial government and the Saint Petersburg city government, and at the same time expand international cooperation in many fields, especially sports and culture.

Within the framework of the working program, the delegation had a meeting with Mr. EDGrigoriev, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Saint Petersburg, to discuss the implementation of the contents of the cooperation agreement signed between the two localities. The two sides expressed their desire to continue to strengthen friendly relations, promote effective and substantive exchange and cooperation activities, especially in the fields of culture, education, sports and tourism.

The delegation also had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation , updated the bilateral cooperation situation and sought opportunities to expand cooperation between Dien Bien province and Russian localities.

Speaking at the 12th International Scientific Congress, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do expressed his deep gratitude to the Organizing Committee for giving Dien Bien province the opportunity to attend and speak at an event of great significance on the international stage. The Congress is not only a meeting place for cultures, but also a bridge of friendship between countries and localities, spreading the spirit of sportsmanship, cooperation and sustainable development.

Introducing Dien Bien - the heroic land with the Dien Bien Phu victory "famous in five continents, shaking the world", Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do emphasized the province's rich potential in culture, history, nature and sports. In recent years, the sports movement in Dien Bien has developed strongly, focusing on preserving and promoting traditional sports of ethnic groups, contributing to improving the physical, mental and cultural life of the people.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes in the success of the Congress as well as the prospect of long-term cooperation between Dien Bien province and Saint Petersburg city, contributing to fostering friendship and peace between the people of Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
