Solidarity to build new rural areas in Quai To

Focusing on implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" to mobilize the participation of the entire political system and people, Quai To commune has focused on doing a good job of propaganda to raise awareness of cadres and people about the meaning and benefits of building new rural areas, creating consensus in implementation. Through many specific and practical forms of propaganda, people's awareness has changed significantly, people have gradually understood the benefits as well as their role and responsibility in joining hands to build new rural areas in the area. Therefore, people are willing to donate land, participate in contributing human and material resources to build new rural areas. Since the beginning of the year, the commune has mobilized cadres and people to contribute more than 180 million VND to install solar lights along the roads leading to some villages; plant 3 flower roads 1.8km long, with a total cost of more than 18 million VND; mobilized people from Hoi Trong and Hoi No villages to contribute working days and more than 130 million VND and some businesses to support construction materials to build more than 1.8km of concrete road into the village; mobilized people from Laeng village to expand 2 internal roads with a total length of 880m...

Mr. Ca Van La, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quai To commune, shared: Solidarity in economic development, actively helping each other to sustainably reduce poverty, improve the quality of life, encourage people to get rich legitimately, contribute to implementing the criteria on income, reducing the rate of poor households, labor, organizing production and developing the rural economy. The commune encourages people to actively participate in developing production, transforming the structure of crops and livestock to improve economic efficiency and improve income. Every year, the commune launches a campaign to support the "For the Poor" Fund to mobilize resources to help households in difficult circumstances; effectively implement support for building houses for poor households; coordinate in organizing activities to visit and give gifts to disadvantaged people in the area. Recently, the commune has supported the construction of 7 solidarity houses under the program "Warm houses of love and social security" of the province. At present, the commune is focusing on mobilizing forces and people to help households in difficult circumstances build houses according to the Project of Mobilizing Support for Building Solidarity Houses for Poor Households of the province. By the end of September, 39/71 households had been supported to build houses; of which 15 houses were completed and 24 houses were under construction.

Promoting the construction of cultural life in residential areas, the commune mobilizes people to well implement regulations on civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, eliminating bad customs, proactively registering to implement "cultural families" and "cultural villages". Up to now, the whole commune has 1,957 households achieving the title of cultural families (accounting for 83%), 16/19 villages achieving the title of cultural villages, 7 villages have cultural houses. Raising awareness of environmental protection, building a bright - green - clean - beautiful environmental landscape, the commune mobilizes people to regularly clean up the village roads and alleys, collect waste, plant more trees, not keep livestock and poultry under the floor, and build mini incinerators. Recently, the commune has mobilized more than 110 households in Ngúa and Mon villages to build mini incinerators to treat waste. In addition, the commune also mobilizes people to properly implement village conventions, strictly comply with legal regulations; actively participate in preventing crimes and social evils, ensuring security and order at the grassroots level; establish mediation teams in villages to promptly resolve conflicts and disagreements among people, creating a harmonious atmosphere in residential areas.

With the solidarity, determination, and joint efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people of Quai To commune, the new rural construction has achieved remarkable results. Up to now, the commune has achieved 17/19 criteria and was recognized as basically meeting the new rural standards in 2019. People's lives have been gradually improved, the poverty rate has decreased to 18.7%, near-poverty rate is more than 10%; average income per capita has reached about 35 million VND/year... Currently, the commune is focusing resources and mobilizing people to implement 2 unmet criteria: poor households and income to strive to meet the new rural standards by the end of 2023.
