On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, on the morning of January 13, the People's Committee and the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Giang province organized a program to present Tet gifts to poor households in Son Dong district. Attending the program were comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Son Dong district and representatives of businesses that supported the fund.
Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Oanh said that in 2024, Bac Giang has achieved many outstanding achievements in socio-economic development, continuing to affirm its position as one of the bright spots of the country in attracting investment and industrial development. People's lives have been improved, social security has been ensured, and the poverty rate has decreased to 1.73%, lower than the national average.
The development process of the province has had the important support of the business community, especially FDI enterprises. Along with promoting production development, in recent years, businesses have always paid attention to devoting resources to join hands with local authorities in social security work.
He emphasized that the support of businesses not only contributes to bringing a warmer and more fulfilling Tet to poor households in Son Dong but also demonstrates the connection between businesses and the local community.
He requested the People's Committee and the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Dong district to receive and allocate funds in a public and transparent manner, ensuring the right beneficiaries and in a timely manner. At the same time, he hoped that the Party Committee and the government of Son Dong district would continue to pay attention, support and create conditions for people to develop production, stabilize their lives and gradually escape poverty.
On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Oanh sent New Year greetings to the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Son Dong district. At the same time, he sent thanks and best wishes for the New Year to the leaders, officers, and employees of the enterprises. He hoped and believed that the enterprises would have stronger development in the coming time and accompany the development of Bac Giang province for a long time.
Speaking here, Mr. Chau Nghia Van - Deputy General Director in charge of the Headquarters of Hong Hai Science and Technology Group in Vietnam, representing the enterprises donating funds, said that over the years, Hong Hai Science and Technology Group has always made efforts not only in business activities but also in implementing social security programs. Today, with small gifts but containing affection and sharing, the Group and enterprises wish to contribute to bringing a warmer spring to families in difficult circumstances in Son Dong district. Enterprises believe that this action is not only a responsibility but also a pride of the enterprise, demonstrating the attachment and companionship with the development of the locality.
At the program, 4 enterprises: Hong Hai Science and Technology Group in Vietnam, Lens Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Luxshare - ICT Co., Ltd. (Vietnam); Seojin Vietnam Co., Ltd., each enterprise donated 350 million VND to give Tet gifts to poor households in Son Dong district.
Here, the Secretary of Son Dong District Party Committee and Chairman of Son Dong District Fatherland Front Committee received financial support from businesses. The leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee awarded the "Certificate of Recognition for Golden Heart" to businesses.
Speaking at the program, Chairman of Son Dong District People's Committee Hoang Van Trong said that Son Dong is the only district in Bac Giang province on the list of poor districts nationwide. By the end of 2024, the whole district will have more than 4,000 poor and near-poor households; of which the rate of poor households accounts for 10.26% and near-poor households accounts for 9.2%.
On behalf of the leaders of Son Dong district, Chairman of the People's Committee of the district Hoang Van Trong thanked the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the province; enterprises, and functional departments of the province for their attention, support, and care for the Tet holiday for poor households in Son Dong district. The gifts from enterprises are very meaningful to poor households on the occasion of Tet holiday, a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping people in the district to reduce difficulties and have more conditions to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday in a warmer and happier way.
On this occasion, he sent New Year greetings to the businesses, wishing them more and more success and continued positive contributions to social security activities in the locality. The district committed to transferring the funds to poor households as soon as possible after receiving the support funds from the businesses./.
