According to Oddity Central (UK), Mr. Rojakorn Nanon, 52 years old, living in Trang province, usually starts his day with a glass of crocodile blood mixed with lao khao - a strong Thai liquor. He also drinks another glass of this cocktail before going to bed. The businessman claims that he used to be physically weak and often exhausted, but since he started drinking crocodile blood, his health has improved. He believes that crocodile blood has miraculous effects on some organs of the body, especially the blood and nervous system.

Mr Nanon started drinking crocodile blood mixed with lao khao two months ago, after learning about the cocktail being sold by Mr Wanchai Chaikerd, 53, the owner of a crocodile farm in Ban Pho. Mr Wanchai knew crocodiles had very little blood – just one or two glasses – so he mixed it with lao khao. Each glass costs around 200-300 baht (VND135,000-200,000).

Wanchai, who owns the largest crocodile farm in Trang province, claims that his cocktail recipe improves blood circulation, strengthens red blood cells, increases platelet and white blood cell counts, and nourishes egg and sperm cells. Crocodile blood, he claims, can even cure infertility.

However, animal conservationists have criticized the promotion of this drink as many crocodiles as young as 3-4 years old were killed to make the controversial cocktail.

According to Mr Wanchai, crocodiles at this age are at their strongest, so their blood is most potent. He can only extract about 100cc of blood from a crocodile, enough for just two cocktails.
