In the context of climate change and environmental pollution today, the construction of environmentally friendly works is of interest to many organizations, schools and communities. One of the typical models is the "Green Library" at Nguyen Du Secondary School with a reading space using recycled plastic materials, which not only helps save costs but also spreads the message of environmental protection.

After coming up with the idea, from the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Du Primary School received support from Thanh Tung 2 Company Limited (Dong Nai) from bookcases, tree-root shelves, wooden shelves, smart trash cans... These products are all made by the company from processed industrial recycled plastic.

The "Green Library" is like a miniature park that allows students to read books in an open, airy space, in harmony with nature. In particular, the bookshelves are recycled from industrial plastic, so even if they are left outside in hot, high-temperature or rainy weather, they still ensure that students' books will not get wet or damaged.

These bookshelves are also designed in a variety of colors and styles, from neutral, elegant tones to bright colors for children.

Each block has a shared bookshelf where students can donate the books they have read to the bookshelf. Thanks to this, the bookshelf is increasingly rich and diverse.

The library also uses recycled industrial plastic products such as tables, chairs, and pedestals for students. Each item carries a story – not only about the recycling journey of waste, but also about creativity and constant efforts to preserve the green planet.

Smart trash can product with the function of classifying household waste and planting trees. In particular, the trash can does not emit unpleasant odors, ensuring hygiene and aesthetics for the surrounding environment. In addition, in case of use in outdoor areas on the school yard, the trash can is equipped with an anti-flood valve, if full, the water will automatically flow out through the valve, helping the flowers not to be flooded during the rainy season. Through this product, organic waste is converted into materials to help the flowers grow every day.

Not only a place for reading, playing and entertainment, the "Green Library" is also a space for organizing environmental education activities such as recycling instructions, making crafts from waste, planting trees, etc., creating opportunities for students to practice a green lifestyle.

The green library with special highlights such as bookshelves, tables, chairs, pedestals, trash cans... made from recycled plastic has helped students have interesting experiences. From there, students have become aware of collecting and classifying trash, contributing to protecting the environment and minimizing the harmful effects of plastic waste on the environment, protecting human health. In the coming time, we will continue to innovate, coordinate to build and expand the green library model to help students spread the love of reading, contributing to changing public awareness about reusing and reducing waste.
