Innovation and creativity in studying and following Uncle Ho at educational institutions

On September 25, the Ministry of Education and Training held a workshop on "Evaluating the results of dissemination, propaganda, and guidance on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle in educational institutions" at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics , Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam Education Trade Union and delegates from educational institutions across the country.

Spreading positive values throughout the education sector

Mr. Hoang Duc Minh, Director of the Department of Students (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the workshop is an important occasion for the education sector to look back on 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle (Directive No. 05) in the sector, and at the same time propose solutions to continue effective implementation in the coming time.

According to Mr. Hoang Duc Minh, immediately after Directive No. 05 was issued, the Ministry of Education and Training organized to disseminate the content of the Directive and at the same time issued a Resolution on implementing the Directive.

Departments of Education and Training, universities, and vocational training institutions have actively and effectively organized the implementation of tasks and solutions stated in Directive No. 05 and Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021, directives, instructions, and plans of the Ministry of Education and Training with many outstanding results.

The above activities have contributed to improving the quality and effectiveness of education, awareness of self-cultivation and moral training, raising the exemplary role of cadres, civil servants and workers; exemplary responsibility of key leaders and heads of agencies and units; and improving the moral qualities and lifestyle of students.

The Education and Training sector has implemented studying and following Uncle Ho, associated with emulation movements and campaigns of the sector. Notable are the campaigns "Each teacher is an example of morality, self-study and creativity"; the emulation movement "Building friendly schools, active students"...

"It can be affirmed that studying and following Uncle Ho has created positive spreading values, contributing to nurturing personality, ideals, ethics and lifestyle for the young generation," said the Head of the Department of Students.

According to Mr. Hoang Duc Minh, in the context of deep international integration and strong development of science and technology today, political, ideological and ethical education in schools is of fundamental significance.

Studying and following Uncle Ho's example needs to continue to be implemented in a practical and creative manner, associated with improving the quality of comprehensive education, nurturing the young generation to develop harmoniously in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, meeting the requirements of building and defending the Fatherland.

100% of educational institutions implement Directive 05

At the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, Deputy Head of the Department of Students, presented a report assessing the results of dissemination, propaganda, guidance on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in educational institutions.

According to the report, 100% of educational institutions nationwide have developed plans to implement Directive 05. All teachers, students and pupils have been thoroughly imbued with the spirit, and at the same time, the implementation content has been concretized in many diverse forms such as integration in teaching, organizing competitions, seminars, cultural and artistic activities and emulation movements.

Training facilities and vocational education establishments also simultaneously deployed studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle to all officials and employees.

This contributes to creating a strong change in self-cultivation, training, improving revolutionary ethics, sense of responsibility and solidarity, while forming unity in perception and action of each individual in the educational environment.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, the Education sector has directed schools and educational institutions to integrate teaching content on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in all levels of education and training.

For preschool and general education, the Ministry of Education and Training has compiled and published a set of guidance documents integrating the content of "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", in which the content of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's lifestyle has been added for each level of education.

The principle of implementation is not to make the program more cumbersome but to encourage teachers to integrate it flexibly, suitable for students of each age. Lessons and stories about Uncle Ho's life become familiar, easy-to-receive materials, connecting learning with real life.

For higher education and vocational education, the Ministry of Education and Training has coordinated to review and add a chapter with the content "Students study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology and moral example" to the Ho Chi Minh Ideology subject curriculum for university and college students not majoring in Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Ideology.

At the same time, the Ministry organizes the compilation of programs and textbooks for political theory subjects to be used in university training for all higher education institutions nationwide, in order to more effectively implement the teaching of political theory subjects according to the new programs and textbooks.

In order to effectively and practically implement Directive 05, the Ministry of Education and Training guides the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities to direct schools to innovate the content and form of organizing extracurricular activities for students.

Activities are oriented according to diverse themes, allowing students to choose according to their personal interests, while still ensuring they are linked to the school's training goals.

Studying and following Uncle Ho must be substantial and profound.

During the preparation of the workshop, the organizing committee received nearly 50 presentations from ministries, branches, Departments of Education and Training, universities and vocational training institutions.

At the discussion session, a number of typical papers were presented, contributing to clarifying the results as well as proposing many practical solutions to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in educational institutions.

As an organization representing the legitimate rights and interests of teachers and workers in the industry, the Vietnam Education Trade Union has constantly innovated and created in directing and organizing the movement to study and follow Uncle Ho.

The movement does not stop at slogans or superficiality but goes into depth, becoming a natural driving force that motivates each collective and individual to transform awareness into practical action, contributing to building a progressive, humane, and creative educational environment.

Right from the implementation of Directive 05, the Vietnam Education Trade Union determined that if the movement was to spread and be effective, studying and following Uncle Ho's example must arouse self-motivation and meet the development needs of each individual and collective.

Avoiding constraints, coercion, and formalities, the Industry Union focuses on innovating methods, defining the goal of motivating and inspiring instead of "assigning" targets and achievements.

In his speech, Mr. Ly Viet Quang analyzed the current situation of compiling programs, textbooks and learning materials on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style in direct connection with political theory education.

The current issues are clearly identified, from unity, systematization to requirements appropriate to each level of education and the context of educational innovation.

He also shared some experiences gained in the process of compiling programs, textbooks, learning materials and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.

At the workshop, many experts and scientists discussed and proposed new and suitable solutions for the next stage, contributing to spreading more widely the ideological, moral and lifestyle values of Ho Chi Minh in the education sector.
