Rename 15 neighborhoods in Tan Ninh ward

At the recent 17th session of the Tay Ninh City People's Council, the City People's Council delegates voted to pass a resolution on renaming the neighborhoods in Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward IV, Tay Ninh City.

Accordingly, Tay Ninh city will rename 15 neighborhoods in Ward 1, Ward 2 and Ward IV. Specifically, for Ward 1, 5 neighborhoods will be renamed: Neighborhood 5 to Neighborhood 18, Neighborhood 4 to Neighborhood 19, Neighborhood 3 to Neighborhood 20, Neighborhood 2 to Neighborhood 21, Neighborhood 1 to Neighborhood 22 (belonging to the old Ward 1).

In Ward 2, 4 neighborhoods were renamed: Neighborhood 4 became Neighborhood 14, Neighborhood 3 became Neighborhood 15, Neighborhood 2 became Neighborhood 16, Neighborhood 1 became Neighborhood 17 (belonging to the old Ward 2).

In Ward IV, 6 neighborhoods were renamed: Neighborhood 1 became Neighborhood 8, Neighborhood 2 became Neighborhood 9, Neighborhood 3 became Neighborhood 10, Neighborhood 4 became Neighborhood 11, Neighborhood 5 became Neighborhood 12, Neighborhood 6 became Neighborhood 13 (belonging to the old Ward IV).

Quarter 1, Ward IV was renamed Quarter 8 (belonging to the old Ward IV).

The renaming of the neighborhoods is carried out because after the arrangement of the commune-level administrative units, Tay Ninh city will reduce from 10 wards and communes to 3 wards. In which, Tan Ninh ward is newly established on the basis of merging wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and Hiep Ninh ward; meanwhile, all the neighborhoods in wards 1, 2 and 4 have names numbered in order such as: neighborhood 1, neighborhood 2, neighborhood 3... leading to duplicate names when establishing new wards.

Therefore, the City People's Committee has implemented steps to rename neighborhoods, directing wards to conduct public and transparent voter consultation. The result is that over 90% of voters representing households agreed to rename neighborhoods due to the rearrangement and reorganization of commune-level administrative units.

The City People's Council assigned the City People's Committee to complete the documents and procedures to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision on renaming the neighborhoods in the new Tan Ninh ward according to regulations.
