After a 3.5 hour flight from Noi Bai Airport ( Hanoi ), the Vietnamese team arrived in Busan at 6:30 a.m. (local time). After completing immigration procedures, the team arrived in Gyeongju, the 10-day training location in Korea, located more than an hour away from Busan by bus.
The time when coach Kim Sang-sik and his team arrived at Gimhae International Airport was also the peak time for flights to Busan. Therefore, the whole team spent a lot of time going through immigration procedures and collecting luggage as well as medical equipment and training.
Vietnam team has arrived in Korea
However, thanks to good preparation work and close coordination with the service provider in Korea, everything went smoothly for the Vietnamese team. The whole team quickly settled into their accommodation at the Kensington Resort Hotel, taking the opportunity to rest and recover their physical condition to prepare for the first training session, which took place at 4 p.m. the same day.
Currently, Korea is starting to move into winter. Although it is sunny, the weather is still quite cold. This is also in the calculation of the coaching staff to ensure the highest efficiency for the training plan. Accordingly, in the morning, the temperature is low, the team mainly trains physically on the artificial turf field in the covered gym. In the afternoon, the team will strengthen their techniques and tactics on natural grass, located about 15 minutes by bus from the hotel.
According to the plan, during the training period in Korea, the Vietnamese team will have 3 practice matches with the "blue team" arranged in order of increasing difficulty to serve the expertise of the coaching staff.
Players stabilize their accommodation
Specifically, in the first warm-up match, the team will meet Ulsan Citizen Club of K-League 3. In the next two matches, the team will meet Deagu FC and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, who are playing in K-League 1.
Jeonbuk is the team that Mr. Kim Sang-sik has been with for many years as both a player and a coach. This team has won the K-League 9 times and the AFC Champions League twice. Meeting the top Korean team is an opportunity for the Vietnamese team to test their playing style and competitive spirit before entering the competition at the AFF Cup 2024.
