Vietnam team was awarded 42 billion VND, how will it be divided?

The bonus system in national teams, especially football, is always a matter of concern, because it is not only a recognition of the contributions of each member, but also affects the team's competitive spirit. For the Vietnamese team that just won the AFF Cup 2024, the bonus system is organized in a transparent and fair manner, with the goal of ensuring maximum encouragement for the entire coaching staff and players, while maintaining solidarity.

The Vietnamese team received a huge bonus.

Players who play a lot of matches will be ranked at level A, which is the highest bonus level. These players are usually the main players or have a long playing time in each match, contributing significantly to the overall performance of the team. This level A is also calculated for players who, although coming off the bench in some matches, make a special impression, even change the situation of the match, bringing excellent results (including Quang Hai, Tien Linh, Duy Manh ...). Or for players who, although playing fewer matches than their teammates for objective reasons, have made extremely outstanding contributions (Xuan Son - he officially played in the match against Myanmar in the group stage because at that time he had just enough time to enter Vietnam for 5 years, according to FIFA regulations).

Level B is for players who play less, but still contribute positively in important situations or are tactical substitutes. Level C is for players who play less or come off the bench, but still contribute to the overall victory. Level D is for players who do not play at all. The coaching staff is also divided into levels A, B, C. Coach Kim Sang-sik and some assistants received level A.

Winning the AFF Cup brings the team many benefits both materially and spiritually.

The bonus amount that the Vietnamese team received was about more than 42 billion VND, of which the Southeast Asian Football Federation awarded 300,000 USD (about 7.6 billion VND); the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) awarded 7.2 billion VND; the state awarded 1 billion VND; the Hanoi People's Committee awarded 2 billion VND; businessmen, enterprises... The amounts are being disbursed in accordance with financial regulations. VFF will not have any intervention in the team's bonus distribution. To ensure fairness in the bonus distribution, the coaching staff and the team's executive committee (captain Duy Manh; two vice-captains Quang Hai and Tien Linh) will agree on the method of bonus distribution, then notify the entire team to get final opinions.

WHO IS THE MOST AWARDED MEMBER OF THE TEAM?

Among the 26 players of the Vietnamese team, Xuan Son probably received the most bonuses (in both cash and kind). In addition to the bonus from the team, Xuan Son also received the following: 100 million VND from a fan; 250 million VND from a bank (a separate bonus because Son won the AFF Cup Top Scorer title); 2 cars with a total value of 1.9 billion VND.

Tien Linh, Xuan Son, Ngoc Tan received big rewards

The best goalkeeper of the AFF Cup 2024, Dinh Trieu, also received a big bonus. He is on the team's level A bonus list and in addition, received an additional 550 million VND from Hai Phong City. In addition to 2 billion VND for the team, Mr. Hien also awarded an additional 4.4 billion VND to 10 players from two clubs in the capital: 500 million VND/person for Duy Manh, Thanh Chung, Hai Long, Xuan Manh, Tuan Hai (Hanoi Club); Quang Hai, Van Thanh (Hanoi Police Club). 300 million VND/person: Nguyen Filip, Thanh Long, Viet Anh (Hanoi Police Club).

The 10 players mentioned above also received an additional 50 million VND/person from the Hanoi People's Committee. Hai Long was awarded 300 million VND by Quang Ninh province.

WILL HAVE TAX OBLIGATIONS

The tax authority said that the Vietnamese national team players will not have to pay taxes on their state bonuses (each player receives 40 million VND) because according to the Law on Emulation and Commendation, this bonus will not be included in income subject to personal income tax (PIT).

However, for money from economic groups, banks, enterprises, organizations or individuals for the team or individual players, coaches, if it is in the nature of salary, wages or is implemented according to financial regulations on revenue and expenditure, bonuses of VFF, it will be included in taxable income. Tax deduction will be carried out according to the progressive tax table or 10% deduction for income from 2 million VND/time or more. If an individual receives gifts in the form of securities, capital in economic organizations, real estate or other assets that must be registered for ownership or usage rights, he/she must pay personal income tax on income from receiving gifts (Xuan Son must pay this tax because he was given 2 cars).
