Looking forward to new things at the 9th Hue Traditional Craft Festival

Following the success of 8 Traditional Craft Festivals, the 9th Hue Traditional Craft Festival - 2023 is expected to have many new, creative and unique changes, a place to gather "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts".

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Traditional Craft Festival will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 28 at the square in front of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted.

“THE HANDS OF THE WORKMAN” - LIGHTING UP THE FIRE OF TRADITIONAL CRAFT IN THE OPENING CEREMONY

Coming to the Opening Ceremony art program taking place on the evening of April 28, 2023 at the Square stage in front of Quoc Hoc School, viewers will be able to admire the unique art performances designed and staged according to a consistent story called "The Hand of the Craftsman" under the direction of Director Le Quoc Vinh. The method to connect the story will be music and choreography newly created based on the main sound of Hue music, but with a modern and fresh rhythm. The music is performed by musician Tri Minh, in collaboration with the artistic direction of Meritorious Artist Tran Ly Ly and two young choreographers Pham Quynh Duong and Tong Mai Len. Participating in the program will be beloved artists such as the Buc Tuong Band, singers Dong Hung, Bao Tram, Son Thach, cellist Dinh Hoai Xuan, designer - Hue Ao Dai artisan Dang Viet Bao. In addition, there will be the appearance of Korean guest star Bobby Kim.

A new and different mark on the opening night is the image of the traditional craft flame that will be lit by the previous generation of artisans. They will pass on the spirit of this craft flame to the next generation of artisans in the Closing Ceremony with the theme "Passing on the Fire" on the evening of May 5, 2023. The flame is also a wonderful handmade creation in the shape of a lotus flower, crafted by artisan Do Huu Triet using enamel art, bearing the unique cultural significance of Hue Citadel. The special feature of this year's opening stage will be different from any event that has ever taken place at the National Academy Monument or the gate of the National Academy School, which is that the stage stretches from the National Academy Monument to the school gate and is completely open, using the existing scene, without installing additional components that affect the masterpiece beauty of the two works bearing the historical mark of Hue.

The audience sits on two stands, admiring the show from above, like a stadium stand, watching the performances on stage with graphic images projected across the square, and will also watch via livestream on their phones or LED screens. COLORFUL IN DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL ART EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

A new program of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival in 2023 is the Art Exchange Night between domestic and international sister cities of Hue. It will be a colorful, multi-tone, and multi-style program, creating a real festival. The connecting mark of the program will be performed by the magic hand of musician, DJ Tri Minh, along with special performances from the Belgian Stilt Troupe, Korean Artists and Bands of Dongnae District, Eupyeong District, Thang Long Music and Dance Theater, Bac Lieu Folk Music, Vinh Art Troupe, Duyet Thi Duong Theater, Hue Conservatory of Music, Nam Dong District Art Troupe... The program will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 30, 2023 at the Square stage in front of Quoc Hoc School.
