(Chinhphu.vn) - Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee.

On the morning of October 17, in Quang Tri province, a conference was held to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel work.

According to the decision of the Politburo, comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, was transferred and appointed to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

At the announcement ceremony, on behalf of the Politburo, comrade Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, presented the decision to comrade Nguyen Van Phuong.

Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung congratulated the new Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and expressed his belief that with the accumulated experience, comrade Nguyen Van Phuong and the collective leadership, people and armed forces in the province will unite and strive to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Politburo.

Comrade Le Minh Hung proposed that in his new position, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee urgently deploy the action program of the 1st Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, in accordance with the direction of the Politburo and the Central Committee.

"Quang Tri province quickly grasped and effectively implemented the documents approved by the 1st Provincial Party Congress. The most important task is to put the resolution into practice; then issue regulations on task assignment and staff arrangement after the Congress, ensuring the correct principles, standards, orientation, and objectivity to create consensus, unity, and solidarity within the organization; at the same time, organize the effective, synchronous, and smooth operation of the 2-level local government model," Comrade Le Minh Hung emphasized.

Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, born on December 29, 1970, hometown in Phong Son commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province, now Phong Thai ward, Hue city. Political theory level: Advanced; Professional level: Bachelor of Mathematics, Civil and Industrial Construction Engineer, Master of Economics.

Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong has held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Department of Transport; Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Tra town; Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien Hue province; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province.

In June 2021, comrade Nguyen Van Phuong was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province. In January 2025, when Thua Thien Hue province became Hue city under the Central Government, comrade Nguyen Van Phuong held the position of Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue city. On October 3, 2025, he was again elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
