Tu Du Hospital, branch 2, officially operates in Can Gio: A model of multi-specialty, multi-hospital medical facility

On December 2, Tu Du Hospital (BV) 2 was officially inaugurated in Can Gio, after 3 weeks of trial operation. This event marked a special milestone for the health sector of Ho Chi Minh City, opening a completely new general hospital model, based on the close association of 9 public specialized and general hospitals.

For many years, Can Gio residents still had to travel long distances to the center to access specialized medical services. In emergency situations, this journey not only took time and money but also posed many risks. Tu Du 2 Hospital was established to change that: People were examined, treated, given emergency aid, had surgery and gave birth right in the locality with the support and care of a team of doctors and nurses from leading hospitals in the city.

At this new medical facility, Tu Du Hospital plays the main coordinating role, in charge of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, and cooperates with Le Van Thinh Hospital, Children's Hospital, Eye Hospital, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, Dentistry Hospital, Dermatology Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital - Occupational Diseases Hospital, Traditional Medicine Hospital. Thanks to the flexible coordination mechanism and resource sharing, Tu Du 2 operates as a general hospital, helping people have full access to specialized technical services.

After 3 weeks of trial operation, the initial effectiveness was clearly recorded, the number of emergency transfers decreased significantly, emergency laparoscopic surgeries, normal births, and cesarean sections were all performed safely...

The Department of Health emphasized that the establishment of Tu Du 2 Hospital not only meets the needs of medical examination and treatment but also opens a new direction in the organization of the city's health network. That is, developing according to a multi-polar model, linking multi-specialty - multi-hospital, making the most of available potential to take care of people's health in areas far from the center.
