The overall project cost is nearly 5.9 trillion VND.

Dong Nai province plans to invest nearly 5,900 billion VND to upgrade and expand provincial road 769. This is a crucial transportation artery, nearly 30 km long, playing a direct role in connecting to Long Thanh International Airport, which is expected to become operational in 2026.

Overview of Provincial Road 769 in Dong Nai Province
The project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 769 spans nearly 30 km; the starting point intersects with National Highway 1 at Dau Giay intersection, Dau Giay commune, Dong Nai province; the end point intersects with National Highway 51 at Loc An intersection, Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province.

According to the plan, the project's starting point intersects with National Highway 1 at the Dau Giay intersection (Dau Giay commune) and its end point intersects with National Highway 51 at the Loc An intersection (Long Thanh commune). Upgrading this road is expected to shorten travel time from localities within the province, as well as from the Central Highlands and South Central provinces, to Long Thanh Airport, while also reducing congestion on National Highway 1.

Scale and implementation schedule

The project is divided into four sections. Sections 1, 3, and 4 will be developed with 6 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed traffic. Section 2 will have 6 lanes for motorized vehicles.

The total investment for the project is nearly 5,900 billion VND. Notably, the cost of compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance accounts for more than 3,000 billion VND. The project will be implemented in the communes of Dau Giay, Binh An, and Long Thanh. Land clearance work

To implement the project, Dong Nai province needs to acquire a total area of over 134 hectares of land. Specifically, the area to be acquired in Dau Giay commune (formerly Thong Nhat district) is approximately 67.5 hectares, and in Binh An and Long Thanh communes (formerly Long Thanh district) is approximately 66.9 hectares. It is estimated that about 996 households will need to be relocated for resettlement, including 517 households in Dau Giay commune and 479 households in Binh An and Long Thanh communes.

The residential area is subject to demolition as part of the project.
The total number of households expected to be resettled is approximately 996. Of these, about 517 households are in Dau Giay commune; and about 479 households are in Binh An and Long Thanh communes.

Current situation and investment needs

Currently, Provincial Road 769 is one of the main routes serving the transportation of materials and access to the Long Thanh airport construction site. However, the existing road is quite narrow and has undergone numerous repairs, no longer meeting the increasing traffic demands.

The current condition of Provincial Road 769 is narrow.
Provincial Road 769 is currently one of the main routes serving transportation and travel from National Highway 51 to the Long Thanh airport construction site.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport had also requested the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to invest in expanding the DT 769 road according to the plan to reduce pressure on the Dau Giay intersection roundabout, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and ensuring traffic safety. The Dau Giay intersection is a vital junction between National Highway 1 and National Highway 20, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the northern provinces and Da Lat, and is also about 1.5 km from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.

Part of a comprehensive infrastructure strategy.

The DT 769 project is part of Dong Nai's large-scale infrastructure development plan. The province is also promoting two other key transportation projects, the DT 770B and DT 773 roads, with a total investment for all three routes exceeding 18,000 billion VND.

Specifically, the project to upgrade and expand Provincial Road 773 spans over 39 km, with 6-8 lanes, connecting National Highway 1 in Xuan Loc district with Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4. Meanwhile, Provincial Road 770B is a newly constructed route over 42 km long, with 4-8 lanes, connecting the eastern districts of the province with Long Thanh Airport, industrial zones, and the Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport.
