Tu Minh Ward People's Committee has organized a review of the forced land acquisition of a number of households to serve the site clearance work of the Vu Cong Dan Street Renovation and Expansion Project Phase 2.
The project reclaimed more than 52,410 m2 of 68 households in Tu Thong residential group. The project was implemented from the end of 2024, but up to now, 11 households have not agreed with the compensation and resettlement support plans, leading to delays in road renovation construction. Some households have received compensation but have not yet handed over the site.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Sam, Vice Chairwoman of Tu Minh Ward People's Committee, this is a key project of the locality, a vital traffic route connecting the ward with neighboring communes. After implementing a two-level government, Tu Minh Ward took over the project, properly and fully implementing legal procedures.
However, for more than a year now, due to land issues, construction has not been possible. Regarding this, the People's Committee of Tu Minh Ward, the Ward Land Clearance Council and associations and organizations have organized many campaigns to propagate, mobilize and explain policies and compensation rates so that households understand and comply with the law. Ward leaders and officials directly went to their homes to propagate, but up to now, 11 households have not complied.
The Ward has reported to the City People's Committee, asked for opinions from relevant departments and branches, and plans to organize compulsory land recovery for a number of households eligible for compulsory recovery after September 9, 2025, and hand over the site to the construction unit, expected in early October 2025.
From now until the enforcement time, Tu Minh Ward People's Committee, organizations and the Land Clearance Council will continue to propagate, mobilize and dialogue with the people.
