Attending the forum were representatives of the State Bank of Vietnam; representatives of local departments and agencies in the Central region; domestic and foreign experts, credit institutions, and enterprises operating in industrial parks (IPs).
The forum is an opportunity for managers, experts, businesses and banks to discuss, share international experiences and propose feasible solutions to remove bottlenecks in developing green industrial parks associated with green credit.
At the forum, the leader of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 9 branch (including the localities of Quang Tri, Hue City, Da Nang City, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai) said that by the end of March 2025, there were 30 credit institution branches in Region 9 with green credit outstanding debt with a total outstanding debt of about VND 10,482 billion, accounting for nearly 2% of the total outstanding debt in the region.
Of which, the renewable energy and clean energy sector accounts for the highest proportion (35.51%), with Quang Nam alone accounting for 60% of outstanding green credit in the entire region.

According to the forum participants, credit institutions have been creating important capital flows for sustainable development, including supporting the construction and conversion of industrial parks towards greening.
Some banks have also proactively researched and updated advanced international standards on green credit, environmental-social risk management and climate risk management, gradually approaching the world's best practices.
However, promoting credit to support the formation and expansion of green industrial parks still faces many challenges such as the lack of a national framework for green industrial parks; the list of green industries and sectors has not been unified and applied nationwide; land fund is exhausted and there is a lack of buffer zones for development, etc.

According to the representative of the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam Province, for sustainable development, Quang Nam is aiming for a green, circular industrial park model, in line with the provincial planning. In particular, it aims to develop high-tech industry, supporting industry, and prioritize the automobile manufacturing and assembly industry.
The Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam province also proposed many solutions to promote green development such as: Establishing a green credit fund, issuing green industrial park criteria, integrating environmental criteria into credit approval, building a risk sharing mechanism, building a set of green credit assessment criteria, simplifying administrative procedures, establishing a technical support center, promoting green transformation training...
