This is a meaningful milestone marked on the construction site of Long Thanh airport investment project, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The runway lighting system of Long Thanh airport uses 100% LED technology, meeting the highest technical standards in the field of international aviation. In addition, Long Thanh airport is also equipped with an ILS/DME precision landing guidance system, helping to guide aircraft to approach and land safely, even in bad weather conditions. The above system is combined synchronously to ensure that the take-off and landing process takes place safely and with absolute precision in all weather conditions, improving the operational capacity and stability of Long Thanh airport.
The successful completion and operation of the runway 1 lighting system is the result of great efforts from relevant units. In particular, the contractor mobilized more than 1,000 personnel and 243 pieces of equipment, simultaneously deploying 30 construction teams to complete the installation of all equipment, ensuring the system operates stably and safely.
The successful installation of the signal system contributes to affirming that the runway has basically met the technical conditions to conduct calibration flights according to the proposed plan.
