Less than three weeks after Poor Things won four Oscars, including Best Actress for Emma Stone, the trailer for their new film Kind of Kindess was released.

According to the official synopsis, Kinds of Kindness is a story about three characters with different fates and lives. There is a man who has no choice but still tries to take control of his life. There is a policeman who panics when his wife returns from a sea disappearance but seems to have become a different person. There is also a woman who is determined to find a specific person with special abilities, who is destined to become an extraordinary spiritual leader.
The film was shot in New Orleans in late 2022, and is the fourth work that the couple Emma Stone and the Greek-born director have collaborated on.
Their first film collaboration was The Favourite , set in 18th-century England, starring Stone and Rachel Weisz as they vie for the attention of Queen Anne (played by Olivia Colman). The film received 10 Oscar nominations.
Other collaborations between Stone and Lanthimos include the dialogue-free short films Bleat (2022) and Poor Things (2023).
In this new work, Lanthimos continues to co-write the script with Efthimis Filippou - with whom he has previously collaborated on films such as The Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer and Dogtooth .
The cast includes Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley - both of whom starred in Poor Things . They also include Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer. Alwyn worked with Stone and Lanthimos on The Favourite .

Distributed by Searchlight, Kinds of Kindness is scheduled to be released on June 21 in the US and June 28 in the UK.
