STEPS TO REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ADMISSION EXAM

Currently, a series of universities have announced the opening of admission portals for students to register for admission. However, according to the announcements of the schools, this is only one of the registration steps that students need to take to participate in this year's admission.

According to the announcement about the registration process on the admission portal of Foreign Trade University, candidates applying for admission based on high school graduation exam results do not need to register, the remaining admission groups register according to different time frames.

For example, from June 9 to 22, it applies to groups of students who participated in/won prizes in national excellent student competitions/national science and technology competitions; specialized students in specialized subjects; students who won prizes in provincial/city excellent student competitions in grades 11 or 12; students with domestic and international capacity assessment certificates; students admitted directly according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The TS group is students using a combination of the 2025 high school graduation exam results and international language certificates, registering their application on the school's admission portal from July 21 to 28.

According to the announcement of Foreign Trade University, at this step, candidates declare and upload to the system mandatory evidence of personal information, high school academic results, evidence of awards, foreign language certificates, domestic and international competency assessment test results, etc. The school will use the criteria declared by candidates to upload to the Ministry of Education and Training's admission portal. At the final step of the admission registration process, the school sends confirmation of eligibility to participate in the admission process via email and the registered account of the candidate. It should be noted that all groups of eligible candidates (including groups of candidates who have registered admission information through the school's admission portal) need to complete the admission registration steps on the Ministry of Education and Training's portal from July 16 to 28.

Many other universities are announcing the acceptance of applications for admission in many ways, but with notes on the implementation process. For example, Hanoi Open University opened a portal to review transcripts, consider transcripts combined with aptitude, and assess capacity and thinking from May 15 to July 24. However, the school noted that it only accepts transcripts from students who graduated from high school before 2025. Students graduating in 2025 only need to register for admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's system. The school's announcement also stated: "Early admission will not be conducted. Students must register for consultation and submit their application for admission."

Hanoi University of Civil Engineering announces the registration for admission based on transcripts applicable to both high school graduates in 2025 and previous years. Candidates need to register online on 2 systems: the school's from May 15 to June 10 and the Ministry of Education and Training's from July 16 to 28. The school notes that the information registered by candidates on the school's electronic information portal is used as data for admission, conversion of foreign language certificate scores and consideration of priority points. The school's admission work is carried out according to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.

M AT THE GATE FOR CANDIDATES TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE

Meanwhile, many southern universities clearly announced the opening of admission portals for candidates to provide data related to some of the school's admission criteria.

For example, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics announced the opening time of the admission portal for candidates to provide evidence of criteria for admission methods 2, 3, 4 from June 2 to July 28. In which, method 2 considers candidates who have graduated from foreign high school programs and have international certificates; method 3 considers candidates with good academic results; method 4 considers candidates with results of the competency assessment test combined with English proficiency. For more information, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said: "The school does not organize early admission but only opens the portal for candidates to provide evidence of criteria for admission."

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, the school's official admission methods have not changed compared to the initial announcement. Specifically, they include: direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission based on candidates who have graduated from foreign high school programs and have international certificates; candidates with good academic results; candidates with results of the competency assessment test combined with English proficiency; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. "Candidates applying for admission by any method must register for admission on the general portal of the Ministry of Education and Training within the prescribed time, including candidates who have provided evidence of the criteria for admission on the school's own portal," he added.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education also organizes the collection of evidence for calculating the school's bonus points and converting English scores for admission purposes. Candidates submit evidence online from May 8 to July 17. "If candidates wish to be admitted to the school, they must provide appropriate evidence. If they do not do so within the prescribed time, the school will not add the school's priority points after announcing the admission results," the announcement stated.

Some universities are also accepting applications for admission based on academic records. For example, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry conducts a preliminary selection based on 12th grade high school results combined with outstanding achievements (if any) from May 15 to July 5. To conduct the preliminary selection, candidates must declare on the school's admissions page, then print out the application form and submit it to the school along with relevant evidence.

Similarly, Nha Trang University conducted the preliminary selection from April 25 to May 31. Associate Professor, Dr. To Van Phuong, Head of the school's Training Department, said that this year the school will consider admission based on two methods: the capacity assessment test scores and the high school graduation exam scores. However, the school will conduct the preliminary selection based on the high school study results (report card scores) in 6 semesters of the subject group in accordance with the training program according to the school's regulations. Therefore, the preliminary selection of report cards is a step before conducting the official admission according to the general regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

No more early admission, candidates register for general admission

According to the admissions guidance document of the Ministry of Education and Training, from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28, candidates can register, adjust, and add admission wishes an unlimited number of times on the Ministry of Education and Training's General Admissions System. Candidates use the assigned account to process (enter, edit, view) their information on the system. Candidates' admission wishes are registered for all training institutions by major/program and are ranked from 1 to the end (wish 1 is the highest wish).

The Ministry of Education and Training also noted that candidates must also provide data (according to the criteria, conditions, and registration procedures specified in the enrollment information of training institutions) corresponding to the major/program that the candidate has registered for training institutions to use for admission. Finally, all admission wishes of candidates to all schools will be processed on the system and each candidate will only be admitted to the highest wish among the registered wishes.

Candidates for direct admission, with priority admission according to current admission regulations, must register for admission before 5:00 p.m. on June 30. Candidates who are directly admitted will receive results from training institutions before July 15 and must continue to register their admission wishes on the system according to the general schedule.
