The two projects are expected to be a lever in ensuring a continuous and stable power source, helping to promote socio -economic growth in the Western region with a series of infrastructure projects, high-tech zones and new urban areas, improving the quality of life for people.
Located on an area of 3.7 hectares in Ha Bang commune, Hanoi , Hoa Lac 220kV substation is designed with 2 transformers 250MVA-220/110kV and 1 transformer 63MVA-110/22kV. The project is powered from the 500kV West Hanoi substation via a 220kV line about 13.5km long, including 10km of overhead lines and 3.5km of underground cables, most of which pass through the existing road of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.
The establishment of the 220kV Hoa Lac substation will directly enhance the power supply capacity for the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park - known as the "Silicon Valley" of Vietnam and neighboring areas. These are areas where the demand for electricity is exploding due to the strong development of high-tech industry, urbanization and service infrastructure.
Not only providing a stable power source, the project also helps optimize the grid structure, contributing to operating the capital's power system more safely and flexibly in situations of sudden load.

Not far from Hoa Lac, Phu Cat 110kV substation is deployed on an area of 3,800m2, including 2 40MVA-110/22kV transformers, supplying power from the 110kV Xuan Mai - Son Tay line. The project aims to improve the capacity to supply safe and stable electricity to Phu Cat commune and neighboring areas, meeting the increasing load demand in the period of 2025 - 2035.
As the foundation for the region's breakthrough, Phu Cat 110kV substation contributes to reducing pressure on existing substations and creating favorable conditions to attract investment, especially in clean, service and high-tech industries. The project is expected to be completed on April 30, 2026, promising to contribute to bringing clear socio-economic benefits to the community.

The simultaneous implementation of these two projects in the coming time will not only solve the problem of electricity supply, but also demonstrate the long-term vision of the capital's electricity industry in being one step ahead in terms of grid infrastructure.
Upon completion, the 220kV Hoa Lac substation and the 110kV Phu Cat substation will become important links in the power system in Hanoi, contributing to the formation of a smart, flexible and efficient power supply network. With that meaning, the two projects are not only technical projects, but also outstanding projects of the capital's electricity industry - representing the strategic vision, of the enduring companionship with the development of Hanoi and the country.
