Proactively invest to ensure electricity supply for the region
Currently, the transmission grid supplying electricity to the Central and Central Highlands regions (areas managed by EVNCPC) consists of 39 substations (TSAs), including 6 500kV and 33 220kV substations. The transmission grid supplying electricity to the Central region operates stably and reliably. However, there are still many times when the substations operate at full load or overload.
To ensure power supply for the Central and Central Highlands regions, EVNNPT is currently implementing 50 transmission grid projects including 20 500kV projects and 30 220kV projects. Among them are a number of key projects serving inter-regional transmission, releasing the capacity of large power sources such as: 500kV Ninh Son - Chon Thanh, Van Phong - Binh Dinh, Binh Dinh - Krongbuk lines, connecting 500kV Thanh My substation to 2 circuits of 500kV Quang Trach - Doc Soi lines; Dung Quat - Binh Dinh line, 500kV Quang Tri station, LNG Hai Lang - Quang Tri connection line.
220kV projects supply power to loads and transmit power from power sources such as: 220kV Dung Quat 2 Substation, Nha Trang – Krongbuk Line Circuit 2, Krongbuk – Pleiku Line Circuit 2.
Projects to increase the capacity of substations and the load capacity of existing 220kV lines that are operating at full capacity and overloaded to ensure power transmission in the Dong Hoi - Dong Ha - Hue , Lao Bao, Tuy Hoa - Van Phong - Nha Trang areas.
In general, projects under construction in the Central region all have major problems in site clearance compensation, land acquisition, mineral planning...
For projects in the adjusted Power Plan VIII for the Central region, EVNNPT is currently proactively implementing investments according to assignment documents of competent authorities and investment agreements with source investors.

For projects to upgrade the capacity of existing substations that EVNNPT is managing and operating, based on the load status, load development situation and development of regional power sources, EVNNPT will proactively plan to implement projects to upgrade the capacity of 220kV substations in accordance with the approved Plan.
In the coming period, EVNCPC is requested to closely coordinate with EVNNPT and localities to promptly update information on load demand and progress of small and medium power sources in the region.
Synchronous coordination for the goal of ensuring regional energy security
According to the adjusted Power Plan VIII, the investment volume for the power transmission grid until 2030 is very large, the investment capital demand for the power transmission grid in the 2026-2030 period according to the adjusted Power Plan VIII is 18.1 billion USD.
Therefore, in order to ensure the implementation of the plan, EVNNPT requests EVNCPC to coordinate in the work of agreeing on the location of the substation site and the specific direction of the transmission line: Comments will be given within 7 days of receiving the request from the locality regarding the agreement on the location of the 500/220kV substations invested by EVNNPT, so that EVNCPC can soon implement the next steps to ensure the project's progress.
Direct affiliated units to coordinate with EVNNPT member units to sign connection agreements for projects that have not yet signed agreements between the two parties so that EVNNPT units have a basis for implementation to ensure progress as required.
For the list of projects in the 2026-2030 period that have not yet been assigned for investment, EVNNPT and EVNCPC will coordinate on the principle: The units that are managing and operating the projects to improve and increase capacity will proactively implement them based on the regional load demand and load situation to ensure electricity supply.
For new construction projects and 220kV substation projects, EVNCPC reviews and reports to EVN for project implementation.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVNCPC, thanked EVNNPT for its proactive investment in building a power transmission grid to ensure power supply for the region.
EVNCPC leaders requested that units under the two Corporations share information to grasp the project's progress to ensure synchronization of the transmission and distribution grids. At the same time, they hope to continue to closely coordinate with EVNNPT to ensure power supply in the 2026-2030 period.
EVNNPT Chairman Nguyen Tuan Tung said that the coordination in investment and construction between the two corporations aims to ensure the best operation of the power grid in the region. He suggested that the leaders of the two corporations periodically meet to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles.
At the same time, EVNCPC is requested to focus on investing in developing the 110kV grid in sync with the 220kV grid to optimally operate the grid to ensure power supply for the region.
