On December 9, some users in Vietnam and internationally reported that the social network Facebook had an error that caused strange lines of characters to appear in the position displaying the time of posts.
According to information from users, the error only occurs when accessing the web version of Facebook and does not affect the mobile application.
Some users shared that instead of displaying the post time, they saw a long string of meaningless characters.
While the issue did not affect the ability to log in or use basic Facebook features, the inconvenience was frustrating for many people. In addition, the error did not appear for all users.

Currently, Facebook has not made an official comment on the above incident. This is not the first time this social network has encountered a display problem related to characters.
Facebook has been plagued with bugs that have affected user experience over the years. For example, in March, the social network lost photos from multiple locations on its accounts, causing users to worry.
In March, Meta's platforms also suffered a global outage, with Facebook and Instagram apps becoming inaccessible for more than 60 minutes. Many users were even automatically logged out, leading them to believe their accounts had been hacked.

Previously, the platform had encountered some similar technical issues when some accounts reported that their personal pages automatically changed to foreign languages such as Chinese, Indian, Greek, etc.
On online forums, many users shared that the temporary solution is to clear browsing history, cookies, cache and restart the browser. If it cannot be fixed, users can switch to using other browsers until Meta fixes the error.
