On December 9, some users in Vietnam and internationally reported that Facebook had an error with strange lines of characters appearing in the position displaying the time of posts.
According to information from users, the error only occurs when accessing the web version of Facebook and does not affect the mobile application.
Some users shared that instead of displaying the post time, they saw a long string of meaningless characters.
While the issue did not affect the ability to log in or use basic Facebook features, the inconvenience was frustrating for many. Additionally, the error did not appear for all users.
Facebook has yet to officially comment on the issue. This is not the first time the social network has encountered a display issue related to characters.
Facebook has been experiencing frequent feature bugs that have affected the user experience over the past few years. For example, in March, the social network lost photos in many locations on the account, causing users to worry.
In March, Meta's platforms also suffered a global outage when Facebook and Instagram apps were inaccessible for more than 60 minutes. Many users were even automatically logged out, leading them to believe their accounts had been hacked.
Previously, the platform had encountered similar technical issues when some accounts reported that their personal pages automatically changed to foreign languages such as Chinese, Indian, Greek, etc.
On online forums, many users shared temporary solutions such as clearing browsing history, cookies, cache and restarting the browser. If that doesn't fix the problem, users can switch to other browsers before Meta fixes the error.
