Real or fake?
Of course, this is just a video that the Instagram channel "Experiment King" claims was scripted to test interaction (or even advertising) in the Indian city of Jodhpur.
An actor deliberately dressed in rags like a beggar before trying to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max - Apple's most expensive flagship model - at a local phone store.
In the video, the "beggar" visits a series of mobile phone showrooms and despite being refused service by many stores because of his unique attire, he still finds one that not only lets him in but also accepts coins as payment.
The "beggar" dumped the bag of coins on the floor before picking it up and handing it to the store owner and staff, who then counted it. He eventually received an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Indian netizens react
After the video was shared on Instagram, it received more than 40 million likes. Indian netizens responded with humor and sarcasm.
One Instagram account claimed: "Here's a scenario... none of the beggars today look like this guy."
Another account said the lesson for stores is not to judge a person by their clothes.
A third account commented: "This was an interesting and thought-provoking experiment."
Most Indian netizens appreciated the experiment while others were surprised by the touching reaction of the store staff in the end.

Will iPhone 15 sell well in India?
The iPhone 15 has been on sale for nearly a month, and according to data from analytics site TechInsights, the standard iPhone 15 is the best-selling model in India.
According to industry analyst Abhilash Kumar, Indians prefer the standard model, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max, 15 Pro and 15 Plus.
Currently, all iPhone 15 variants are sold out in India, while Apple can replenish the standard models more easily (about a week), the supply of Pro models follows the global market and takes at least three weeks to get in stock.

TechInsights also notes that while the iPhone 15 Pro Max is priced higher in India than in the US, demand is strong as customers seem to appreciate the camera, titanium frame, and USB-C charging port on this model.
Kumar further noted that the iPhone 15 Plus was better received than the iPhone 14 Plus and one of the reasons was because it was launched alongside the rest of the models, while in 2022, customers had to wait until October to get their hands on the iPhone 14 Plus.
This, combined with the larger Dynamic Island, A16 Bionic chip, improved cameras, and USB-C charging port, makes the iPhone 15 Plus a better value for those who want a larger screen but don't want to pay as much for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
TechInsights also notes that of all the models, the iPhone 15 Plus is the smart choice because it offers interesting features, is readily available, and comes at a better price than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
According to Bloomberg, the iPhone 15s assembled in India were first sold in the country and some other regions at the same time as those assembled in China on the opening day of sale on September 22.
However, they only account for a fraction of iPhone 15 sales as Apple is said to be manufacturing 7% of its iPhones in India - with a long-term goal of 25% by 2025.
