Delegates attending the program had the opportunity to interact with historical witnesses.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Bui Van Bia; Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, provincial departments, branches, former officials of the Women's Union through the periods, and historical witnesses attended.
The program included activities, folk dance performances, and parades with the participation of more than 1,000 women members across the province. In particular, to review the nation's heroic historical traditions, delegates attending the program met and listened to the stories of those who had participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Provincial leaders presented flowers to thank the witnesses who participated in the program and took souvenir photos with them.
Through their stories, the uncles and aunts seem to convey to today's generation, the young generation, the women's union members in particular, and the people of Ben Tre in general, the spirit of 50 years ago. The day of national reunification, the day the whole nation burst into joy of victory. To have a day when "the country is full of joy", generations of our fathers and grandfathers fought steadfastly to protect the beautiful country in the arduous and fierce resistance war against the US to save the country. Thereby contributing to building and strengthening the belief and pride in the tradition of "Heroic - Dong Khoi - defeating the US - destroying the puppet".
Provincial leaders also participated in the parade at the program.
Speaking at the program, Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa emphasized that joining in the joy of the whole country welcoming the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975) is an opportunity for us to look back at history, honor the noble sacrifices and patriotism of many generations. In particular, for women, these days also have a very special meaning, a day of reunion, a day of complete joy... of mothers meeting their children again, wives meeting their husbands again, children and grandchildren meeting their fathers and grandfathers again... a day that we must always be proud to mention, we have made a great contribution to the great war of national defense years ago.

“The echoes of the great victory day” are still here in the heroic homeland of Dong Khoi, with the overwhelming spirit of 50 years ago. We, the generations of women today, always remember, express our gratitude and respectfully honor the contributions of the people and women of Ben Tre in the cause of national liberation, and at the same time we promise to continue to affirm our important role in building and defending the Fatherland in the new period.
