Meeting with veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the resistance war against America to save the country

STO - On the morning of April 18, at the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district (Soc Trang), the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chau Thanh district organized a meeting with veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Attending the meeting were comrade Le Trung Hau - Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association; former leaders of My Tu district, leaders of Chau Thanh district; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; veterans and former youth volunteers currently living and working in Chau Thanh district.

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the heroic revolutionary tradition of the nation, the years of arduous fighting and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Currently, in the district, there are 1,063 veteran members, veterans and 14 former youth volunteers who participated in the resistance war against the US. These are living witnesses of courage, sacrifice and fighting for the Fatherland. They have written glorious pages of history of their homeland and country.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Au Cong Minh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Chau Thanh District People's Council praised and acknowledged the achievements and important contributions of the veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country, with a strong will and spirit of enduring all hardships and sacrifices. They fought bravely and won for freedom, for the longevity, for the bright future of the nation, for the happiness of the people. At the same time, he hoped that the veterans and former youth volunteers would continue to be shining examples, actively participating in local movements, contributing to building the homeland to develop more and more.

On this occasion, the organizers presented gifts of gratitude to the delegates as a sincere thank you to those who contributed to the glorious victory of the nation.
