Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Tran Manh Chien emphasized: From the historical milestone of May 7, 1955 - the day the Coastal Defense Department was established, laying the first foundation for the formation of the Navy.
Over the past 70 years, generations of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy have continuously trained, fought bravely, overcome countless hardships, and achieved glorious feats on rivers and at sea.
From the glorious victory of the first battle to the legend of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea, the People's Navy has made an important contribution to the cause of liberating the South, unifying the country, and helping Cambodia escape genocide.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Hoang Kim Nong, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, former Deputy Brigade Commander of the 171st Brigade, shared: “We are very happy and moved to return to our unit, meet our comrades and teammates, and together review the glorious tradition of the heroic Navy. Each of us has indelible memories of the years of training, working, and fighting for the sea and islands of our homeland. Although we have returned to civilian life, we always follow the development of the Navy, believing that today's generation of officers and soldiers will continue to uphold the tradition, stand firm at the forefront of the waves and winds, and successfully complete the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.”
