Rubber export price increased by nearly 31%

(GLO)- Vietnam Customs Department said that in the first 15 days of April 2025, Vietnam exported 31,224 tons of rubber of all kinds, worth 62 million USD (down 22.2% in volume and 2.8% in value compared to the same period in 2024); while the export price of rubber increased by nearly 31%.

In total, from the beginning of the year to April 15, 2025, Vietnam exported 413,965 tons of rubber of all kinds, worth 799.4 million USD (down 8.9% in volume but up 19.1% in value compared to the same period in 2024).

Although rubber export volume decreased, the value increased thanks to the average rubber export price of Vietnam from the beginning of the year to April 15, 2025 reaching 1,931 USD/ton (an increase of 30.7% over the same period in 2024).

Vietnam's rubber is mainly exported to Asia. By the end of the first quarter of 2025, exports to this region reached 341,260 tons, worth 654.36 million USD (down 5.8% in volume but up 24.6% in value compared to the same period in 2024; accounting for 86.8% of the total export value of the whole industry). According to statistics from the Customs Department, the 5 largest rubber export markets of Vietnam in the first quarter of 2025 were all in Asia, including: China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea.

According to the forecast of the Vietnam Rubber Association, in 2025, the total export turnover of the rubber industry will reach over 11 billion USD. Of which, natural rubber will reach about 3.5 billion USD; rubber products will reach about 5 billion USD; rubber wood will reach about 2.5 billion USD.
