Impersonating food safety officer to sell professional documents

According to the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City, recently there have been cases of people impersonating officials of the Food Safety Management Board or health departments of districts in Da Nang City to sell food safety books and documents.

These people advertise the publications as documents used to train employees working in food production and business establishments, catering services, and can be used to equip internal knowledge... so that establishments trust and buy books for illegal profit.

In October 2022, Da Nang City authorities arrested a person impersonating an official.

The Da Nang City Food Safety Management Board affirms that these publications do not have legal value to replace the necessary certificates and certifications in state management of food safety.

At the same time, the Da Nang City Food Safety Management Board has no policy on selling professional documents to individuals and businesses that produce, process and trade food. The Management Board also absolutely does not send staff to call or work with businesses on the issue of depositing money or transferring money to personal accounts.

Therefore, the Da Nang City Food Safety Management Board requests the Health Departments of districts and communes as well as relevant officials in the local health sector to increase propaganda.
