Specifically, the retail price of electricity for production customers ranges from 1,234 - 3,640 VND/kWh; the retail price of electricity for business is from 1,609 - 5,422 VND/kWh; the price of household electricity is calculated in 6 levels, from 1,984 - 3,460 VND/kWh; the wholesale price of household electricity is in 6 levels, from 1,658 - 2,744 VND/kWh... In addition, the Electricity industry also offers wholesale prices for household electricity in many different forms, depending on the transformer station invested by the seller or the buyer.
In particular, wholesale electricity prices for industrial parks and industrial clusters range from 1,210 - 3,334 VND/kWh; wholesale electricity prices for commercial - service - residential complexes in 6 levels range from 1,947 - 3,393 VND/kWh... These electricity prices do not include value added tax.
According to calculations, for households using electricity for daily life, each household will pay an additional 4,550 VND to more than 65,050 VND per month, depending on the level of usage.
Specifically, for households using less than 50 kWh of electricity, the electricity bill will increase by about 4,550 VND/household/month. For households using from 51 kWh - 100 kWh, the electricity bill will increase by about 9,250 VND/household/month. For households using from 101 kWh - 200 kWh (currently the largest customer group), the electricity bill will increase by about 20,150 VND/household/month. For households using from 201 kWh - 300 kWh, the electricity bill will increase by about 33,950 VND/household/month.
For households using 301-400 kWh of electricity, the increase in electricity bill is about 49,250 VND/household/month. For households using 400 kWh or more, the increase in electricity bill is about 65,050 VND/household/month. For service business customers (about 574,000 customers), the average increase per customer is 332,000 VND/month.
As for manufacturing customers (the whole country has about 1.98 million customers), after the price adjustment, each customer will pay an average of 677,000 VND/month more. As for administrative and career customers (total 719,000 customers), after the price change, each customer will pay an average of 125,000 VND/month more.
Basically, this electricity price adjustment will ensure that poor households and policy families are not affected significantly. Poor households and social policy households will continue to receive support according to the provisions of Decision No. 28/2014/QD-TTg dated April 7, 2014 of the Prime Minister . In particular, poor households will receive monthly support equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 30 kWh/household/month, social policy households with the amount of electricity used not exceeding 50 kWh/month will receive monthly support equivalent to the amount of electricity used by 30 kWh/household/month according to the Government's policy.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Electricity said: "Electricity bills in May 2025 will be affected by the double impact of electricity price adjustment and increased output due to the heat wave. Therefore, when receiving and handling customer requests related to high electricity bills, electricity units need to separate the impact of each factor to respond fully to customers.
At the same time, promote propaganda and dissemination to employees to enhance their sense of responsibility in the work of recording indexes, checking indexes, reviewing and issuing invoices, receiving and resolving customer complaints about high electricity bills, not allowing errors to occur that affect the quality of customer service and the reputation of the Electricity industry.
The Electricity Company also directed units to arrange sufficient human resources to serve the inspection and careful review of the calculation of invoices before issuance, ensuring that there are no errors, paying special attention to customers with changes during the price change period such as: Changes in electricity usage purposes, customers with sub-meters, customers with total consolidation, wholesale customers before issuing invoices...
When receiving customer comments and suggestions related to electricity bills, the Electricity Company must promptly organize verification and fully explain and resolve them for customers within 24 hours of receiving the information. Incorrect or damaged invoices and payment receipts must be reviewed and corrected promptly. Proactively monitor and arrange sufficient personnel to reconcile, settle invoices, promptly cancel debts and notify intermediary payment partners to adjust the contract guarantee certificate in accordance with the adjustment of retail electricity prices and the collection situation of the partners, avoiding service interruptions that affect the quality of customer service.
