Price developments in the North
The live hog market in the Northern region this morning recorded a scattered decrease in some localities. Specifically, the purchase price in Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong and Hung Yen all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently commonly at 50,000 VND/kg.
Lai Chau alone also recorded a similar decrease, down to 49,000 VND/kg.
On the contrary, the provinces of Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh , Ninh Binh, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Phu Tho and Son La continued to maintain stable prices, fluctuating around 50,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.
In general, the price of live pigs in the North today fluctuates between 49,000 - 51,000 VND/kg, reflecting a slight downward trend but not creating major fluctuations for the whole region.

Central Highlands and Central region stable, only slightly decreased in Lam Dong
In the Central Highlands region, the market is generally quite stable. Only Lam Dong recorded a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 49,000 VND/kg.
Localities such as Thanh Hoa and Nghe An still maintain the highest level in the region, 50,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the group of provinces Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa commonly traded at 49,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces maintain the lowest level in the region, 48,000 VND/kg.
Overall, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands this morning fluctuated between 48,000 - 50,000 VND/kg, reflecting the balance between supply and demand.

The South slightly decreased, fluctuating around 50,000 VND/kg
In the South, the price of live pigs also recorded a slight decrease this morning in some localities. Specifically, Dong Nai and Can Tho both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently reaching 50,000 VND/kg and 49,000 VND/kg, respectively.
Tay Ninh and Ca Mau provinces continue to maintain the highest price in the region at 51,000 VND/kg, while Vinh Long is the locality with the lowest purchase price, 48,000 VND/kg.
In Dong Thap, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City, the price remains around 50,000 VND/kg.
In general, the price of live pigs in the South fluctuates between 48,000 and 51,000 VND/kg, averaging about 49,875 VND/kg.

Phu Tho promotes livestock development in a modern and sustainable direction.
According to information from the Agriculture and Environment newspaper, in the first 10 months of 2025, the livestock industry in Phu Tho has had positive changes, with the transition to a concentrated production model and the application of advanced technology to improve productivity as well as ensure sustainable development.
The total livestock population in the province has been stable over the past 10 months, with significant improvements in scale and quality, according to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Tho province.
Specifically, the total buffalo herd is currently 163,500, down 10.8% (equivalent to 19.7 thousand), completing 95.5% of the plan; the cow herd is 251,000, down 7.6% (20.7 thousand), completing 92.5% of the plan. In contrast, the number of pigs has increased to 1.82 million, up 1.5% (26.7 thousand), completing 96.1% of the plan; meanwhile, the total poultry herd is 40 million, up 8.3% (3 million), exceeding 109.4% of the plan, especially the chicken herd is 35 million, up 8.9%, completing 107.6% of the plan.
Thanks to the increase in pig and poultry herds, the province's total fresh meat output reached 362 thousand tons, up 4.2% (14.7 thousand tons) over the same period last year, achieving 77% of the yearly plan. In addition, egg output reached 1,598 million eggs, up slightly by 0.02%, achieving 110.4% of the plan; fresh milk output reached 46.86 million liters, up 1%, completing 74.4% of the plan.
The livestock industry is undergoing positive changes, with the gradual reduction of small-scale farming and the increase of concentrated farming. Currently, concentrated pig herds account for more than 44% of the total herd, chickens 33%, and cows 14%. Many industrial livestock areas have been established in the province, applying high technology to ensure biosecurity and disease control, while protecting the environment.
Phu Tho has also attracted investment from many large enterprises in the livestock sector such as CP Vietnam, CJ Vina Agri, Japfa Comfeed, Mavin, Cargill, Emivest, DABACO and Hoa Phat. The total pig herd of these enterprises accounts for more than 30%, while the chicken herd accounts for more than 20% of the total herd of the whole province, contributing to improving the efficiency and production value of the livestock industry.
