Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of May 14, 2025

Recorded on the morning of May 14, the domestic pepper market fluctuated from 151,000 - 152,000 VND/kg, remaining stable compared to previous trading sessions.

Experts say that in the short term, pepper prices may remain high or increase slightly. The main reason is that domestic and international supplies are scarce, while consumption demand remains stable. In addition, factors such as drought and hot weather in key growing areas also affect pepper output, contributing to high prices.

With the current sideways and stable market trend at a high level, pepper growers and traders should maintain a flexible sales strategy, closely monitor market developments and be prepared for export opportunities when prices tend to increase. Timely grasp of market information and trends will help optimize profits in the current pepper market context.

According to Ptexim report, world pepper prices tended to decrease due to weak demand and rising concerns about tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the market recovered when demand increased again.

In addition, demand has improved in the EU, Asia and the US. Notably, the Chinese market has started buying again, although the quantity is still small. However, after the harvest, farmers are under almost no pressure to sell and are expected to continue to stockpile in the coming time.

According to data from the International Trade Center (ITC), in March, pepper imports into the US reached 6,741 tons, up 13.4% over the previous month and nearly 17% over the same period last year. The main supplying markets include: Vietnam with 3,991 tons, Indonesia with 1,515 tons and India: 815 tons.
