Domestic pepper prices today had a second consecutive sideways session, keeping the price of this agricultural product around 147,000 VND/kg.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in October 2025, Vietnam exported about 19,800 tons of pepper, earning 131.8 million USD. In the first 10 months of the year, exports reached 206,300 tons, worth 1.4 billion USD - down 5.9% in volume but up 25.8% in value compared to the same period last year.

The average export price of pepper reached 6,774 USD/ton; an increase of 33.7% - reflecting the trend of shifting to deep processing, increasing value instead of focusing on output. With this result, the Vietnamese pepper industry is expected to reach the milestone of 1.5 billion USD this year, approaching the record of 2016.

According to VPSA, the positive results come from the increase in world pepper prices and domestic enterprises focusing on investing in deep processing and diversifying products. Although pepper output in 2025 will only reach about 180,000 tons due to not expanding the planting area, high selling prices have helped export value increase sharply.

VPSA believes that global pepper demand will recover strongly from the fourth quarter after a period of "demand suppression" at the beginning of the year, creating a solid foundation for growth. However, in 2026, prices may be under downward pressure if global supply increases, especially from Brazil.

In the context of the domestic pepper growing land fund being almost exhausted, Vietnam is forced to increase productivity and maintain its advantage with stable quality, meeting international standards. Enterprises are recommended to be more flexible in warehouse management, closely monitor market fluctuations, transportation costs and tax policies to maintain Vietnam's position as the world's leading pepper exporter.

Thus, today's pepper price on November 7, 2025 in the country is trading around 145,000 - 147,000 VND/kg.
