The press is increasingly interested in culture.
On the evening of November 6 at Hoan Kiem Theater (Hanoi), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and the Vietnam Journalists Association organized the closing ceremony and presented the 3rd National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture".
The award aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of groups, individuals, and teams of journalists in the development of culture, information, sports , tourism and family.

The award also recognizes the persistent efforts of press and media agencies in spreading the message "culture is a source of spiritual energy" to millions of people, joining hands to implement the strategic action statement: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge".
2025 is the third season of the Award and has many innovations from the name, scale of organization to the content of the entries. Evaluating the professional quality of this Award, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Final Jury, journalist Le Quoc Minh said that this year, the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" has been raised to a new level, demonstrated through the scale and quality of the entries.
“With more than 1,000 entries sent from central and local press agencies, we consider this to be a very positive response from the press nationwide. That number not only reflects the attraction of the Award but also shows the increasingly deep interest of reporters and editors in the fields of Culture, Information, Sports, Tourism and Family,” said Mr. Le Quoc Minh.

This year’s entries are diverse in genre and theme. In the final round, many entries demonstrated depth in content, reflecting major industry issues such as cultural policy, legal basis, the role of culture in the digital age, building family culture, etc.
These topics are very suitable for the orientation "Culture must light the way for the nation", in line with the Party and State's policies and guidelines on cultural development.
More than 1,000 entries after 4 months of launching
According to statistics from the Organizing Committee, in just nearly 4 months of launching, as of August 10, 2025, the Secretariat - General Department has received 1,040 press works submitted to the contest from central and local press agencies.

The Secretariat - Synthesis Board has reviewed and pre-qualified 113 works, including 927 works that meet the criteria according to the Award Rules. Of which, the Print Newspaper category has 223 works; Electronic Newspaper 385 works; Radio 45 works; Television 103 works; Photo Newspaper 171 works.
For the Print Newspaper category, this is the type of journalism with a large number of entries. Of which, about two-thirds are long series of articles from 3-5 issues. This year, the Print Newspaper category has many good, high-quality articles, carefully invested; in-depth analysis, methodical, good solutions.
The Electronic Newspaper category has the largest number of entries. This year, with 385 entries for the preliminary judging, this category increased by 150 entries compared to 2024. The entries covered the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and family from many press agencies at both the central and local levels. Central press agencies continue to have strengths in in-depth, multimedia series and works.

The works selected for the final round are mostly presented in multimedia format Mega Story, E-magazine with images, video clips, podcasts, data graphics, etc. presented vividly and eye-catchingly, taking advantage of the advantages of electronic newspapers. Many series of articles in foreign languages have contributed to communicating to international readers about the Party and State's policies and guidelines on culture, information, sports, tourism, and family.
In the Radio - Television category, highly appreciated works focus on topics of public interest such as developing cultural industries, developing sustainable tourism, preserving and conserving writing; good and creative ways to preserve and promote the quintessence and unique traditional cultural heritage of the nation...
Press photos recorded a much higher number of entries than in 2024. The works closely followed Vietnamese cultural activities during the year such as sports, culture, and politics.
The final jury selected 95 best works to award prizes including 5 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 25 third prizes and 50 consolation prizes.
In which, the 5-part series "Golden heritage on the blue sea shore" by author Vo Thanh Ky, Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, was honored to be awarded the Second Prize.
