Pig price on November 7, 2025: Recorded slight decrease in all three regions

DNVN - The price of live pigs on November 7, 2025 was recorded to decrease slightly in all three regions, fluctuating from 48,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.

Northern region: Many localities adjusted down

In the Northern region, the live hog market this morning showed a slight downward trend in some places, with prices fluctuating between VND 49,000/kg and VND 51,000/kg.

In the provinces of Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong and Hung Yen, the price of live pigs has decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 50,000 VND/kg. Following the same downward trend, the price in Lai Chau has dropped to 49,000 VND/kg.

On the contrary, localities such as Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh , Ninh Binh, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Phu Tho and Son La continue to maintain stable levels around 50,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.

Central Highlands: Mitigation in Lam Dong

In the Central Highlands, the price of live pigs on November 7 decreased slightly in one locality compared to the previous day, fluctuating from 48,000 VND/kg to 50,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Lam Dong, the price decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, down to 49,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces still maintained the highest price in the region, reaching 50,000 VND/kg.

The provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa recorded common transaction prices of 49,000 VND/kg. Gia Lai and Dak Lak are currently at the lowest level in the region, reaching 48,000 VND/kg.

Southern region: Many places continue to adjust downwards

In the Southern region, the price of live pigs this morning decreased slightly in some localities, fluctuating between 48,000 - 51,000 VND/kg, averaging about 49,875 VND/kg.

According to records, Dong Nai and Can Tho both decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently reaching 50,000 VND/kg and 49,000 VND/kg respectively.

Tay Ninh and Ca Mau continue to maintain the highest price in the region, 51,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Vinh Long purchases at the lowest price of 48,000 VND/kg, while Dong Thap, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City maintain prices around 50,000 VND/kg. The lowest price in two months, the market may recover in mid-November.

In general, the price of live pigs nationwide on November 7, 2025 decreased simultaneously, fluctuating between 48,000 and 51,000 VND/kg, the lowest level in the past two months. It is forecasted that the market may recover slightly when consumer demand increases in mid-November, but still faces risks from epidemics and weather fluctuations.

Cao Bang: African swine fever is under control, herd restoration is under control

In Cao Bang - a locality heavily affected by African swine fever - the situation has shown positive signs. According to Tin Tuc & Dan Toc Newspaper, the whole province recorded 177,669 pigs destroyed, accounting for 44% of the total herd, equivalent to more than 8,475 tons of meat.

After a strong outbreak from late July to the end of August, the number of new infections decreased significantly. By early October, no new outbreaks were detected. To date, 948 out of 1,216 hamlets have gone 21 days without recording any cases, of which 436 hamlets in 34 communes have been declared free of the epidemic.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hieu, Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry of Cao Bang province, said:

“The authorities have provided more than 33,000 liters of disinfectant chemicals to communes and stepped up virus surveillance sampling. Genotype I+II variants are still scattered, but the situation is under good control.”

The provincial agricultural sector is currently implementing a controlled repopulation plan, requiring barns to be disinfected and left empty for at least 30 days before repopulation. At the same time, the locality is encouraging people to temporarily switch to raising poultry or fattening cattle to compensate for meat supply.

Cao Bang aims to gradually restore its pig herd in the first quarter of 2026, aiming to ensure a stable supply for the Northern market during the Lunar New Year.
