According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 3,341.37 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 1.15% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,379 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 106.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 15.3 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

The US dollar fell 0.3%, making gold cheaper for holders of other currencies, Reuters reported.

President Trump said the 80% tariff on Chinese goods was “reasonable”, as representatives from the two countries prepared to enter a round of talks this weekend aimed at controlling the trade war between the world’s two largest economies.

Also on the geopolitical front, India and Pakistan have accused each other of launching fresh military attacks, using drones and artillery for three consecutive days – the worst fighting between the two nuclear-armed South Asian nations in nearly three decades.

“Clearly, the lingering uncertainty around tariffs remains the most important support for gold,” said David Meger, director of metals trading at High Ridge Futures. “However, we are not as bullish on gold as we have been in the past few months. We may be entering a correction or consolidation phase for a while.”

In the physical market, gold dealers in India offered discounts this week due to weak demand, while a weaker rupee pushed domestic prices to near record highs. In contrast, demand in China has started to recover after the holidays.

In other precious metals, spot silver rose 0.8% to $32.75 an ounce, platinum rose about 2% to $995.10 and palladium inched up 0.2% to $977.68.
