On January 3, the Ky Thuong Commune Police (Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh) said that the unit had just successfully rescued Mr. HMT (born in 1996, residing in Lam Hop Commune, Ky Anh District) and returned him safely to Vietnam after being sold to Cambodia for labor.
According to the police, previously, Mr. HMT's family went to the Ky Thuong Commune Police to report that Mr. T. was lured and tricked into working at an online gambling company in Cambodia.
Mr. T. was forced to work, beaten and the bad guys asked his family to pay 160 million VND to return home.
Upon receiving the information, the police began an investigation and contacted the Cambodian police for assistance. On November 30, 2024, the Cambodian police coordinated to successfully rescue Mr. T. while he was being detained and forced to work in a labor camp near the Thai border.
On December 30, 2024, Cambodian authorities handed over HMT to Vietnamese authorities at Ha Tien International Border Gate, Kien Giang province.
It is known that this is the second case in the locality that Ky Thuong Commune Police successfully supported in rescuing people back to their country after being tricked by bad guys to go to Cambodia to work.
