
Entries for the 18th Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award must reflect the land and people of Quang Nam , and have been published in mass media nationwide from March 24, 2023 to March 23, 2024.
Accordingly, print media has two types of awards: journalistic essays (including feature stories, notes, narratives, and essays) and articles reflecting on events, reporting, quick notes, interviews, investigations, investigative reports, commentary, essays, and editorials. Television media has two types of awards: long feature stories and documentaries, and short feature stories and online panel discussions.
Radio journalism has one category of awards for news reports, live radio programs, news coverage, quick reports, feature stories, and investigative journalism. Online journalism has one category of awards for multimedia news reports (integrating print, photos, video , or audio), graphic works (infographics, videographics), and e-magazines (longform). Photojournalism has one category of awards for single photos, photo essays, and photo series.
The prize money for the first, second, third, and consolation prizes of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award is 15 million VND, 10 million VND, 8 million VND, and 4 million VND respectively.
Within the framework of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award, the Quang Nam Journalists Association, in coordination with the Provincial Social Insurance, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the People's Committee of Nam Tra My District, the Department of Information and Communications, the Quang Nam Forest Protection and Development Fund, the Quang Nam Provincial Market Management Department, and the Provincial Steering Committee for Supporting Creative Startups, organized 7 thematic journalism awards in 2024.
The Social Insurance Propaganda Journalism Award is open to entries in three categories: radio and online journalism; television journalism; and print journalism. The prize structure for each category includes 1 First Prize (10 million VND), 1 Second Prize (7 million VND), 2 Third Prizes (4 million VND each), and 2 Consolation Prizes (2 million VND each).
The Journalism Award for the Cause of National Unity was presented to 5 works in print, television, radio, and online media, with 1 First Prize (10 million VND); 2 Second Prizes (6 million VND each); and 2 Third Prizes (4 million VND each).
The award for journalistic work promoting administrative reform and digital transformation was given to 7 entries across print, television, radio, and online media, with a prize of 8 million VND per entry.
The journalism award for promoting Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs of Quang Nam was given to 3 works in print, television, radio, and online media, with a prize of 7 million VND per work.
The Quang Nam Provincial Journalism Award for promoting policies on payment for forest environmental services and forest protection awarded prizes to 5 journalistic works in print, television, radio, and online media, with a prize of 7 million VND per award.
The journalism award for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation will be given to 5 entries in print, television, and online media, with a prize of 8 million VND per award.
The journalism award for promoting the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods will be given to 3 works in print, television, and online media categories, including 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, and 1 Third Prize, with prize values of 8 million VND, 6 million VND, and 3 million VND respectively.
All entries for the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award and other specialized journalism awards must have been published or broadcast on mass media between March 24, 2023, and March 23, 2024. The deadline for submitting entries is May 10, 2024 ( postmark date). The awards ceremony will be held on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism Day, June 21, 2024.
