At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Deputy Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 1st Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award in 2024, reported on the progress of the award to the delegates.

Accordingly, immediately after the 14th term of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 07/2022/NQ-HĐND, stipulating the content and expenditure levels for the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award and the Thai Nguyen Provincial Literature and Arts Award, the Standing Committee of the Award (the Provincial Journalists Association) advised and proposed relevant documents on the organization of the award selection process, issued documents in accordance with regulations, ensuring a full legal basis for the award selection process. They organized meetings of the Organizing Committee and press conferences to widely publicize the Award. They issued documents establishing the Judging Panel and sent invitations to members to participate in the Judging Panel. Intensive publicity and widespread dissemination of information about the Huynh Thuc Khang Press Award (Figure 1)

Comrade Nguyen Bao Lam, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Award Organizing Committee, chaired the press conference.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Son, Editor-in-Chief of Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Vice President of the Journalists Association, and Deputy Head of the Award Organizing Committee, also provided information on the award regulations. Accordingly, the first Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award of Thai Nguyen province in 2024 will have a wide range of participants. There are four main journalistic categories: Print journalism, Television journalism, Radio journalism, and Online journalism. Each author or group of authors can submit two works in each category. Eligible works must be published for the first time within the last two years (from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023). The award structure includes: Special prize (if any); A, B, C, and encouragement prizes with the highest payout reaching up to 20 times the current basic salary (36 million VND)...

At the press conference, delegates discussed issues requiring clarification such as the length of entries for each category, the number of entries per author, and the selection criteria of each agency during the preliminary selection process. The Organizing Committee acknowledged and clarified these issues.

Concluding the press conference, Comrade Nguyen Bao Lam, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association; and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Award Organizing Board, emphasized that the first Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award of Thai Nguyen province in 2024 is a place to honor the journalism profession with a substantial award structure.

At the same time, the Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Award called on central and local news agencies to intensify propaganda and widely disseminate information about the Award. The Organizing Committee will support and accompany authors in all matters when submitting works to participate.
