Over the past 2 years, there have been many quiet but touching stories about the blood donation to save lives of club members. On February 21, 2025, Son La Provincial General Hospital sent out an emergency signal that there were two patients, Ms. Dinh Thi Niem, in Phu Yen district, suffering from acute pancreatitis and needing blood type A, and Mr. Bui Quang Thang, in Yen Chau district, suffering from acute gastric bleeding and needing blood type O. Just a few minutes after receiving the information, 5 officers, soldiers, and members of the "Youth Live Blood Bank" Club of Son La Police immediately arrived at the hospital to donate blood to save the lives of two people they had never met.

Mr. Dinh Hong Linh, the younger brother of patient Dinh Thi Niem, emotionally shared: That day, my sister was in critical condition, the doctor said she needed an urgent blood transfusion, while no one in the family was eligible to donate blood. Thanks to the timely support of the hospital and the noble actions of the police officers and soldiers, my sister received a timely blood transfusion and overcame the critical condition.

Joining the Club since its inception, Captain Dang Xuan Nam, Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Provincial Police, has donated blood 16 times and was honored as "Outstanding National Volunteer Blood Donor 2024". Nam shared: Every time I donate blood, I am very happy, the blood I donate will be used by doctors to treat all patients to maintain life, I feel that my life is much more meaningful because I have done something useful.

Provincial police officers and soldiers participate in voluntary blood donation.

With 78 members at the time of its establishment, up to now, the "Youth Blood Bank" Club of Son La Police has had more than 300 members who are officers, soldiers, and youth union members of the Provincial Police, operating on a voluntary basis. The Club has connected with all hospitals and medical facilities throughout the province. Whenever receiving emergency cases in critical condition requiring urgent blood transfusion, but the patient's family is not eligible to donate or does not have the right blood type, the hospital or medical facility will immediately send an urgent notice to the "Youth Blood Bank" Club. From that call, through the Zalo group, the Club's Executive Board will immediately review the list of members, determine who has the right blood type and is in good health to donate blood to save lives.

Captain Luong Xuan Sang, Deputy Head of the Youth Department, Son La Provincial Police, and Chairman of the Club, shared: Club members are always ready to respond 24/7. Every time there is an urgent call from the hospital, everyone is ready to leave their units, put aside their personal work, and go to the hospital to donate blood. To date, the Club has had 250 emergency blood donations to save lives at hospitals and medical facilities. In addition, the Club has mobilized 4,250 youth union members to donate blood at blood donation programs organized by the Provincial Red Cross Society.

More heartwarming, after the blood donation sessions, are the tight handshakes or thank you letters from the patient families sent to the members of the Club. These noble acts are not only appreciated by the people but also recognized by the Director of the Provincial General Hospital and the Director of the Provincial Police, who awarded certificates of merit to the Club members, like a fire that fuels the enthusiasm for the Club's humanitarian journey.

Doctor CKII Nong Thi Diep Le, Head of Pediatrics Department, President of the Red Cross Society of the Provincial General Hospital, shared: The "Youth Blood Bank" Club of Son La Police is a unit that the hospital regularly connects with to donate blood to save lives. Although the hospital has a reserve of blood, there is still a shortage of blood at times, so the living blood of the Provincial Police's youth is very important, promptly saving patients.

The noble acts of the "Youth Blood Bank" Club of Son La Police are not only a place to connect volunteer hearts, but also a lifeline for many patients, contributing to spreading the spirit of humanity, social responsibility, and beautifying the beautiful image of "Serving the people" of the Son La Police force.
