(CTO) - On the evening of May 15, the Vietnamese women's team won 2-0 against the Myanmar women's team in the final match of the 32nd SEA Games women's football event, successfully defending the "queen" title in Southeast Asia. This is also the fourth consecutive gold medal for the Vietnamese girls.

Meeting an opponent who had lost 0-2 in the group stage, the Vietnamese women's players confidently entered the attack immediately, without needing to probe. Their fast pressing style of play, surrounding and stealing the ball right in the opponent's half, caused Myanmar many difficulties and confusion.

The Vietnamese women's dominating ball control soon turned into an advantage. In the 12th minute, from a pass from her teammate, Tuyet Dung broke through the Myanmar defense, then passed the ball to Huynh Nhu when goalkeeper Mya Mya Nyein could not get up in time. The Vietnamese captain easily put the ball into the empty net, opening the score of the match.

Myanmar tried to attack, but encountered the well-organized play of the Vietnamese women's team in the remaining time of the first half and the first minutes of the second half. Most of Myanmar's attacks were blocked from a distance, outside the penalty area.

The Vietnamese women's team organized a large defense on the home field and used many long passes for Huynh Nhu to race. When Huynh Nhu was out of breath, Hai Yen was brought in to replace her, and the Vietnamese women's team continued to play the same way.

In the 75th minute, from a quick attack on the right wing, Thanh Nha controlled the ball within the reach of the player in white, entered the penalty area and then shot the ball very delicately to score, raising the score to 2-0.

The goal almost extinguished all efforts of the Myanmar players. Winning 2-0, the Vietnamese women's team deservedly won the gold medal.
