To support businesses in penetrating supply chains, the Hanoi Association of Supporting Industries Enterprises is striving to enhance business capacity, expand international cooperation, and integrate the capital's supporting industries deeper into global value chains.

International cooperation, connecting supply and demand.

Reporting at the recent conference on the implementation of work for 2026, Tran Phuong Lam, Secretary General of the Hanoi Supporting Industries Business Association (HANSIBA), stated that 2025 is a period for the capital's supporting industries community to recover from the pandemic and respond to global economic fluctuations. The Association has proactively organized training programs, investment promotion, supply and demand matching, and international cooperation, creating tangible results for its members.

A notable highlight is the connection among member businesses for "intra-bloc transactions," such as Thanh Giong Computer, TOMECO, An Mi TOOLS, Indema, Brother Screws, Bach Lien MRO, etc., which have signed cooperation agreements to support ordering and collaborative production.

The association also signed a training and consulting contract for AS9100 certification – Aerospace Quality Management System – with Vietnam-Japan Industrial Development and Investment Consulting Company Limited (VI-JA CID), paving the way for Vietnamese businesses to access aerospace quality management standards. This will enable them to participate more deeply in the component supply chain and expand into other high-tech manufacturing sectors.

HANSIBA collaborates with departments, agencies, and domestic and international organizations to organize numerous trade promotion activities, fairs, and exhibitions to promote products and connect businesses in the fields of mechanics, electrical and electronic engineering, components, and supporting equipment. The association also collaborates with N&G Group and Onaga Company (Japan) to develop the Vietnam-Japan Technopark Complex in the South Hanoi Supporting Industrial Park, contributing to making this complex a hub for qualified businesses from both countries to participate in the global production chain. Currently, the first three factories have been built, and one factory has commenced production.

The association also regularly monitors the production and business situation, compiles difficulties and obstacles, and reports them to relevant authorities, contributing to the development of policies to promptly resolve issues and support businesses in recovering and adapting to the market.

Opening the "runway" for businesses to "take off"

According to HANSIBA, in recent years, supporting industrial enterprises in Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general have been increasingly participating in the global production chain, becoming suppliers of components and parts for many multinational corporations, while also expanding exports to many international markets.

Supporting industrial enterprises have produced high value-added products, applied modern technology, and are present in the electronics, aerospace components, and many other key economic sectors. Notably, Hanoi's supporting industrial enterprises actively cooperate and connect supply and demand, creating tangible results.

However, supporting industrial manufacturing businesses still face difficulties accessing preferential capital, while the industry's characteristics require large investments, high technology, and a long payback period. HANSIBA Chairman Nguyen Hoang believes that domestic businesses cannot penetrate the supply chain if they operate independently, especially in industries with high technical standards. Therefore, early cooperation with FDI enterprises, along with technology transfer and human resource training, is key to bridging the gap.

By 2026, HANSIBA aims to increase the number of member enterprises directly producing supporting industrial products to 1,000, while strengthening the quality of these enterprises to participate in global production chains in key sectors such as mechanical engineering, aerospace components, automobiles, electrical and electronic equipment, defense industry, and other foundational industries.

HANSIBA will focus on supporting businesses in training highly skilled technical personnel, providing import and export consulting, international certifications, technology transfer, and connecting them with FDI enterprises in HANSSIP (an industrial-urban complex developing towards an industrial city and smart city) in Phu Yen , Tay Ninh, and other industrial zones. At the same time, the Association will promote cooperation on capital, helping businesses access preferential loan packages from the Vietnam Development Bank, the Hanoi Development Investment Fund, and the commercial banking system.

A key task is to support the implementation of the next phases of the HANSSIP Industrial Park – the country's first model of a specialized, supporting industrial park. With Phase 1 already 100% occupied, the Association expects Phase 2 to attract more projects from Japan, South Korea, and the European Union (EU), especially high-tech component manufacturing businesses.

To promote the supporting industries, the HANSIBA Executive Board recommends that the Government promptly develop a Law on Supporting Industries, creating a stable legal framework for long-term investment. At the same time, the Association proposes a specific credit solution package for supporting industry enterprises, with preferential interest rates, longer loan terms, higher credit limits, and flexible collateral conditions.

HANSIBA hopes that the city will continue to issue preferential policies to promote the development of the Vietnam-Japan Technopark Complex and production linkage models in the HANSSIP Industrial Park, viewing this as a foundation for the formation of Technoparks in the North, Central, and South regions, creating a modern, internationally standardized production network.
