Hanoi has 22 special national monuments.

On the morning of April 29, at the 22nd session, the Hanoi People's Council passed a Resolution on promulgating the List of areas, relics, heritages, and works that need to focus resources on protecting and promoting cultural values; the list of typical blocks and streets with cultural and historical values, the list of valuable architectural works to restore, protect, and promote values in Hanoi, phase 1 (implementing Clause 3 and Clause 4, Article 21 of the Law on the Capital).
The Resolution clearly states that the list of tangible cultural heritages includes: List of typical relics managed by the Hanoi People's Committee, including 10 relics; list of relics recognized as special national relics, including 22 relics; list of relics ranked at the national level, including 1,164 relics; list of relics ranked at the city level, including 1,600 relics; list of revolutionary resistance relics ranked, including 46 relics.
The list of locations with memorial plaques for revolutionary resistance events includes 354 points. The list of recognized national treasures includes 34 treasures; the list of ancient villages includes 1 ancient village.

Regarding the list of intangible cultural heritages, 6 heritages were recognized by the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); 42 heritages were recognized in the list of national intangible cultural heritages. The list of craft villages, traditional craft villages and typical traditional occupations in Hanoi includes 182 craft villages, 54 traditional craft villages, and 7 traditional occupations.
Regarding the list of typical blocks and streets with cultural and historical values, the streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter are within the scope of protection and restoration at level I, including 21 streets. The streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter are within the scope of protection and restoration at level II, including 40 streets. The street sections in Hanoi's Old Quarter of the streets with many villas of special architectural value include 16 street sections. The list of public architectural works built before 1954 includes 40 works with special value and 33 works with notable value.
Collecting documents for Cu Da to be recognized as an "ancient village"

Presenting a report on this content, Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture Nguyen Trong Ky Anh said that the construction of a comprehensive, systematic, scientific list of areas, relics, heritages, and works that need to focus resources on protecting and promoting cultural values; a list of typical blocks and streets with cultural and historical values, a list of valuable architectural works that need to be protected, restored, and promoted in Hanoi has become an urgent requirement.
The development and promulgation of the Resolution aims to specify the provisions of the Capital Law 2024. This is not only one of the measures to preserve the valuable heritages of the city but also the foundation to promote cultural, artistic and architectural values, promote tourism, develop the economy, educate and raise public awareness.
Presenting the inspection report, Head of the Urban Committee of the City People's Council Dam Van Huan said that the Urban Committee proposed to review the list of intangible cultural heritage (10 typical relics managed by the Hanoi People's Committee) in form 1-a and forms 1-b and 1-c to avoid duplication.

In Appendix 1-h of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the City People's Committee proposed a list of Ancient Villages including two villages, Duong Lam and Cu Da. Of the two villages, Duong Lam Ancient Village has been identified by the city as being included in the List of Hanoi Ancient Villages in Resolution No. 24/2013/NQ-HDND dated December 4, 2013 of the City People's Council.
Cu Da Village is a village with a long tradition, but is collecting documents to be recognized as an Ancient Village (according to the report of the Department of Culture and Sports). In the city, there are currently many other traditional villages with unique cultural features. Therefore, it is recommended that the City People's Committee clarify the basis and basis for proposing Cu Da Ancient Village to be included in the list of ancient villages of Hanoi.
In the process of implementing the Resolution after it has been approved, it is necessary to pay attention to supplementing the resources expected to implement the Resolution such as protecting, restoring and promoting heritage values (state budget, socialized resources, international cooperation, etc.). At the same time, it is necessary to have a specific plan on mobilizing, prioritizing conservation, or a mechanism to encourage organizations and individuals to participate in heritage protection.
